I agree, this seems like some sort of obsessive hypochrondria. We're similar but different? What if you stay off the internet for a few days? Maybe that way you can't log onto WP and you can turn this obsessive focus onto something else. Have you seen a doctor about your problem? To me it seems a c...

well, answering your question, you would need to curse to the high heavens, scream out racial slurs, ect. wait, you're saying that the Why is it good to have AS thread is something enough to get you banned? you were just confused that's all. or perhaps you're still confused. :? I think it would be ...

I tried starting a negative thread and it didn't work. (I really do feel very negatively about possibly having AS in many ways.) What would I have to do to get banned? I really shouldn't be in here. Just because I've been reading stuff on here I now believe I hve every negative symptom and am afraid...

I'm thirty four, recently self diagnosed. You want a concrete example of how negative AS trait can be benefitial? Everyone keeps mentioning social, so that is the one I will use. Specifically, lack of empathy. . You're assuming all Aspies lack empathy. I think a lot of Aspies would disagree with yo...

I don't think there's a negative side to AS. You should try to accept yourself for who you are. Besides, socializing is a waste of time in my opinion. So what's the positive side to having AS? I've mentioned why I have a negative side to it...because I can't socialize and have to have it constantly...

Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays because they ain't got no social life. Not me. When I live on my own, I am reserving holidays and weekends for listening to my stereo and other fun and leisure. Just you have no social life doesn't mean you can't have quality time to yourself keep in...

It's an hospital who is specialised in autism.

For those who got an evaluation, how much long it was ?

Is this in Canada?

If I'm accepted to do the evaluation, it will be 5 days long, morning only. It's an hospital who is specialised in autism. For those who got an evaluation, how much long it was ? The first one I had (with a psychologist) probably lasted 6 or 7 hours total...I went there in hour or hour-and-a-half p...

I can safely say the "negatives" I have are not because of Asperger's Syndrome but because of those who do not understand AS. (I.E. Society) Fine, but there's way more of them than there are of us, and they're not going to go away. we have to get along the way society is now, with the majority of p...

Cool...do people leave you alone about that though, and are you able to have a job or get money to live on (I'm not sure how old you are?)

...and I could probably refute you. At least why it doesn't suck if someone doesn't have savant skills. I can't believe everyone thinks AS is some wonderful thing, identify as having it sometimes even if they really don't. It sucks to not be able to get along socially, to have problems communicating...

And then she guessed about my AS! Turns out she studied neuroscience at university  She said to me that she didn't see it as a problem in any way, there was nothing wrong with being a bit different. OMG, this terrifies me. I've already mentioned AS to the boss I have now, and she pooh-poohed ...

My question for those who select "self-diagnosed," or, "not sure if I have it or not" in their profile is: What other diagnoses did you ever consider? For me, before I learned more about AS, I considered: Depersonalization Disorder Schizotypal Personality Disorder Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (but...

Working alone is a good one and we don't generally spend the day in idle chit chat with others What about people like me who would like to be able to chat more and, even if not able to do this, spends at least a couple hours throughout the day worrying about who's going to lunch, how social everyon...
