I definitely have separation anxiety with my partner. Sometimes I can miss my partner so much it hurts when we are just in separate rooms. Sometimes we are only streets apart. Sometimes several hundred miles. I just cannot deal. Being at work is a challenge. I also have some kind of anxiety when my ...

I'm mostly Norwegian, also some German, Finnish, Scottish, Swedish, and Border Collie. Whomever you are, we must be kin. You said border collie. *sends wave of affection* --- To answer the poll: My expected answer: Mid-Atlantic American (Irish and Cherokee) My more accurate description of my mental...

To A_Floating_Moon Ah, all right. And no, nothing very helpful at all. Reading/listening/watching only small parts at a time isn't working. I am no longer in psychotherapy but I see my psychiatrist at the end of August. I may ask to go back into therapy because I clearly still need help with life.

He absolutely should know not to do that. My mother did something similar when I was in my teens and trying to drive. She thought I was too close to cars parked on the side of the road snd grabbed the wheel from me and yelled at me. I had a panic attack. I can't drive with her or anyone other than m...

That seems to be my only coping strategy is to just stop and involve myself in something entirely different and with a low possibility of stimulation, but still interesting.

Do any of you with Autism/Asperger's/Giftedness have issues driving? I am almost 25 and still cannot pass the theory test. I did a few times in my teenage years, but I failed that more than oassed it. I tried a month or two ago to take the theory test and failed it after reading the manual and knowi...

Embarrassingly, I don't really know what that means. Specifically the resisting the urge to poke at me for a while. I think you mean ask questions? It doesn't bother me if you ask questions, if that is the concern. This is also possibly the very first time I have admitted I didn't understand what so...

Sometimes it is anxiety, sometimes I am so happy and excited and enthusiastic, sometimes I get mad (if it is someone writing and article and they are bigots, for example). So, all of the above? It is ideas and thoughts and feelings, all at once, I think. And if I do get very interested and enthusias...

Hi, (suspected Aspie and gifted - untested, yet) I don't know if this is where I should put this, but oh, well. The older I have gotten, the more apparent my problem with being overwhelmed gets. For example, if I read a book or watch a documentary on a subject I care a lot about (if I can manage to ...

Major depressive disorder, dysthymia, and panic disorder, here. Take Zoloft for depression and Seroquel to help stabilize things and put me to sleep. Nothing specifically for panic, unfortunately.

Hi, I apologize if I am not supposed to make a new post. I don't know how forums work very well. I don't use them often. I find them confusing. Anyway. I am an undiagnosed Autistic and undisgnosed Gifted/Talented. I feel like a fraud claiming either label, but I have read a lot about both of these a...
