Anybody consider (or are experienced) with creative writing? Creative writing might be beneficial with 'stay at home' directives! That's what I've been trying to do. I've been trying to write down my daily experiences with my student during distance learning at home. Everything we've been through t...

Usually something bathroom related. Flushing toilets, Taking showers/taking off my clothes (I had this weird idea that there were rats in the wall who were video-taping me) I have gotten over these - but public restrooms have only come to replace them. When I was very young (approximately 2 years o...

I think for now I am safe. Or at least, I hope. I don't want to drink nasty things anymore. I just want to get rid of this pain and guilt that I feel. I try and push the feelings aside and tell myself to focus one day at a time and not to worry about anything right now, but I know my time with my sp...

I can wear a mask for a short period of time but it just gets hot and sweaty on my face. The real issue I have is that I do feel very weird wearing a mask. Growing up I was told not to wear masks to school because people need to see your face at all times, bank robbers and shooters wear ski masks et...

I was just mad because the thing I thought of the ease the pain, someone stopped me from doing. It felt like the pain was going to last forever.

On Friday I had these intense negative emotions due to stress and anxiety about someone. I didn't feel like I wanted to die or anything but I just needed a way to numb the pain even if it it meant some temporary physical discomfort. Anyways, I had a plan. I knew exactly what I was going to do. I was...

I have a friend (ex student) who would break glass doors or kick things, break things and injure himself during a meltdown as a child. He once showed up for the lesson bleeding. We discussed this a couple of months ago when he came on a social visit, he was embarassed to discuss it also and says he ...

I understand the way you feel. I am a TA at a school and right now, I want nothing more than to see my students in person. But we can't right now and it's really frustrating. All you can do is pray for him. Pray that he is okay and that all of this will be over soon.

Everyone is trying their best to formulate such a plan. The psychologist who is super nice but doesn't spend a lot of time with him on a day to day basis, the teacher, and the principal. There was supposed to be a field trip for all of the kids to go see the middle school and meet the teachers. They...

I always try to be there to support him. I tell him that it doesn't matter how long his work takes him, as long as he is trying his best. I will be there to support him every step of the way so that he doesn't have to go through it alone.

Makes sense. I do se this student everyday on the computer. When I brought up the subject of middle school yesterday just to see how he feels about it or if he has any questions, he just yelled at me. "I'm not going! I'm staying back! I'm not going to a school where the teachers don't know me a...

Well, what do you guys think I should do? I can't give him a hug on the last day of school or even wish him good luck in person because we are stuck at home.

Thank you for the input. And by love I don't mean in an inappropriate way. I mean it in such as way that I sort of wish he was my son so that I could give him a warm bed to sleep in and hot meals and always try to be there for him whenever someone his hurting him to remind him of what a special chil...

My issue is that I care too much about my students and I love him. Whenever he's sad, it makes me sad. Whenever he's happy, I'm happy but I get nervous because I know out time is coming to an end much sooner than later. I just want him to know that my heart aches because I can't be there for him nex...

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts about freewriting as a coping skill to deal with unpleasant emotions. As a TA in a school, when I found out that had to stay at home and do distance learning (at the time most likely for the remainder of the year), I was feeling stressed and hurt s...

One of the keys to writing is the maxim "Show, don't tell". It is far more interesting to read what a sad character says, does, and looks like than to simply read the words, "She was sad". In fact, don't even use the word "sad" (or any synonyms) to describe the charact...
