I am a sociologist, so in my view, autistic people are a social minority, similar to non-males, non-whites, and non-heterosexuals. I don't see autism as a mental disorder any more than being female is a mental disorder. However, one can pretty reliably attribute things like "female characteris...

The power inexplicably went out, so I'm sipping wine by flashlight. Also, a moth is harassing me as I type this.

Oh, and my phone shows a very obnoxious, giant, touch-screen oriented warning about non-HTTPS scripts for every page that I visit on this site. Great.

I go to bed approximately one hour later each day, so being up at any hour is a normal thing.

Hmm...I don't think it's reasonable to expect someone to get rid of their pet because of your sensory sensitivities. Loud, barking dogs aren't exclusive to Brazil, they exist all over the globe, if that makes you feel any better (I doubt it does). Have you tried using ear plugs/muffs intended for fi...

My father invited me to go rafting with only thirty minutes notice today. I really don't like sudden events (plus I had a rather negative experience last time), so I was nervously pacing around for thirty minutes. I've been trying to limit my alcohol intake, as it has been excessive lately, but &quo...

I do not think it would be appropriate to give someone a flier for a study of a mental disorder because of unqualified suspicions. I probably would not react favorably in such circumstances.

I got a score of 16 ("Normal Lonelienss" (It's hard to put too much faith in a test that spells "loneliness" wrong.)), but it was difficult to answer, as many of the options were clearly intended to have negative connotations, while I don't have a negative impression of the quest...

I always try to script everything, but I'm horrible at scripting, so it's a pointless effort.

Perhaps you should try to find someone who wants to have sex with you under circumstances besides financial duress. If you do "use" (I don't know why I put scare quotes there) a prostitute, then I think you're just being paranoid. A small legal risk is inevitable while engaging in such act...

I would not utilize the services of a prostitute. if prostitution was legal it would reduce chances of STD's, hookers being abused by 'pimps', perhaps reduce STD's ect. ... the logical conclusion being that nobody with the power to change the situation wishes that outcome. ...Or because the evidence...

What I mean is, have you ever plugged earbuds / headphones into the TV, and then listened to the TV through them? Yes. Was it a strange sensation----like, was it difficult for you to realize, or "match-up", or correlate, or whatever, that the sound in your ears, was the sound to what you ...

Birthdays. Apparently both of my parents' birthdays are coming up in a few days, but I'm terrible with dates, so I had no idea. My mom bought my father an expensive gift and falsely labeled it as being partially from me, like I'm five years old. But I have nothing for my mother, and my parents are c...
