I talk about the challenges of growing up with Asperger's, some of the ways I've learned to overcome the challenges of Asperger's, and the things I've learned from my story. Check it out

Thanks guys! I really appreciate your encouragement and affirmation :) I do want to say two things. First, I give away memberships to anyone who asks -- I just ask them to do a good deed to someone else in return. You can read about that here: http://www.improveyoursocialskills.com/pay-it-forward-me...

http://www.kxan.com/dpp/news/local/austin/making-a-weakness-a-strength It's a story about the struggles that I've had with Asperger's, and the ways that I am helping people learn social skills based on what I've learned. It's a very positive perspective on Asperger's, and obviously I'm quite excite...

Could you see a counselor? That would give you at least one person to talk to, and it would also help you brainstorm solutions to your "finding friends" dilemma.

Some counselor friends of mine are running a Google Hangout social skills group. It's a bit different from what you have in mind (since they want to more directly work on skills instead of having a general hangout), but it might be worth checking out as well. The details are Here.

Yes, this is correct. Thanks for helping to clarify |

Two ways. A friend/family member/counselor is the best way. Have them observe your interactions, and then reflect back to you the areas they see you need to improve. You can also use social skills guides. Read a book or use a website (like the one in my signature) that teach you how to do a particul...

The good news is that answering this question is what the assessment is for So don't stress -- just go, take the assessment, answer everything honestly. If you have Asperger's (or HFA), they'll let you know. If you don't, they'll let you know that too. You don't need to figure it out on your own. |

Handling money is like any other skill - you can get better at it :) And there are a lot of resources out there to help you, because lots of other people are bad at money too. Just pick up some basic personal finance guides and start reading. Dave Ramsey is a good author, but there are lots of good ...

You can find it at http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/UsefulNotes/AspergerSyndrome. It's really handy - it has a very good description of Asperger's, so it's a good resource to send to people that don't "get it." It also has some useful resources and advice for people on the spectrum. And it's on...

If you don't want to fake interest, then find people who are interested in things that you are interested in. Use meetup.com to find groups based around your interests, or google around for "your interest" plus "your city." I guarantee you that whatever you're interested in, someone else is interest...
