IMHO politics is an unholy, unsavory mess. I've even stopped watching the news; just can't take anymore. unfortunately, one must keep abreast of current events however depressing, that is a basic survival behavior, sticking one's head in the sand won't be helpful. Agree. But I just read on line. It... |

I've thought about therapy on and off, but have never taken that final step... not even when anxiety was at an extreme (in my 20s) I've always managed to survive somehow.
I hope your therapy goes well. |

I'm thinking that stifling the creativity of an asperger is probably worse than not providing structure, in terms of development. Although, structure is good for mind-numbing, getting through the day type jobs, what about jobs that aspergers would really fly at ? Software development, games inventor... |

I can suffer extreme mental anxiety at times. Even though I may appear calm, albeit a tad pensive to others, inside my mind is racing at the gallop with all kinds of anxious thoughts, bordering on the paranoia. I can rationalize that I am being paranoid and I stop short of OCD rituals to stop the an... |

Some people get it instantly - I can just tell by their expression that they know I'm 'different' to them. It makes me feel awful. Other people, much later but it doesn't concern them in so much as they just drift away from me, I think. Men I've been involved with don't seem to notice much but then,... |

I don't know. The thing with me is that I happen to like isolation. My therapist prefaces her social suggestions to me with "I know you don't want to interact with people but..." then "think about it". I might get a pet, though. I can see how that might help with some of my depression related issue... |

Constantly. It is usually a result of me being over enthusiastic about a subject/ angry/mentally exhausted/socially drained or just simply anxious.
If I am relaxed, it rarely happens so I think it ties in, with me at least, getting too overloaded due to people stress and social anxiety. |

I was like this for 2 days or so - nothing works (for me) other than routine. Monday morning alarm clock goes off & signals a new beginning. I feel fine now (back home, a hard day behind me) and the sinking depths that I sunk into less than 24 hours previously, long forgotten. Weird isn't it? Ca... |

Primary school was easier for me but it was also significant that I became very 'sick' and couldn't attend school for about 3 months following an incident in which children laughed at me. I never told my parents, I just pretended I was sick. High school was a nightmare. Complete hell due to the extr... |

Unfortunately, I've found that people with character and personality disorders seem to latch on to us aspies. We are an easy target for them, because we are often desperate for friendships with due to or social deficits. At least that is how it is for me. I believe that I give off an aura that cert... |
