I love gardening. I have a big front flower garden in the summertime but also a side garden with tomatoes, peppers, beans, kale, and herbs. It's wonderful being able to grow and eat some of your own produce.

To this day I have a problem with fabric texture and how it feels on me. It's why I only wear certain clothes / fabrics.

For me it's like floating above a football stadium where there is a filing cabinet at each seat location. I can pull open a cabinet drawer and take out a video and play it over again. Not sure if you are talking about the same thing, but like if I'm watching a teacher talking and she's wearing a piece of jewelry, like a brooch, I'll mentally take it apart like it's spred out in front of her. And also will picture it being manufactured. Or when out for a walk, something like a ch...

This happens to people both NT and autistic. Both my wife and I travel from time-to-time and we both have this problem and she's NT.

I think what you are referring to is called visual - spatial thinking (also called "thinking in pictures"). I'm a visual - spatial thinker. Not all autistic people are but some are.

Temple Grandin is one, you see examples of it in the movie biography of her.
