Another theory is that estrogen-like chemicals in plastic bottles, which may be disrupting people's endocrine systems. Quite possible it's both, and more, that are causing such early menses. Weight, too, contributes to menstrual onset, since fat cells cause the body to produce more estrogen. As a so... |

Sedaka, hi Your symptoms sound more like you might have endo, not PCOS. Especially since there's a family history of endo. I'm not sure what the recommendations are these days for endo. But read up on it, regardless of what those docs have said. Also, here's another thought that might explain some, ... |

DB, hi. Don't feel bad. When I first joined, I thought the OPPOSITE. In my (at the time) rather confused and emotional state, this assumption led to me starting the "In Love w/ Aspie" thread in the Adult Asperger's Issues. To state the obvious: the thread has almost NOTHING to do with sex! :oo... |

Good luck with move, Merle. Coffee Dude, hurry up! Merle needs you, but we can't do without our jolt, which is your job. Have been keeping up with you all, quietly, although I missed the latest broughaha. Kind of glad I did. 8O  But we seem to be okay post-tiff. Whew! :D Any number of topics ha... |

I'd like to point out, too, that many, many two-year-old NTs are not especially verbal and not really talking. ESPECIALLY boys. So, unless this boy has physical problems that would prevent it, he will talk when he's ready and in his own way. Unless he does turn out to be severely autistic, he'll lik... |

Sun and Rain, hi. Can't help with your meds question per se, but I just wanted to say that since I joined this site ~ five months ago, I've seen quite a few posts indicating incorrect initial Dx of schizophrenia, especially in younger people/kids when the correct Dx is AS. That's not to say that the... |

Oops -- meant to share: Mine started at 12.5. I'm 40 now. At the time, though, 12-14 was the standard range for menstrual onset, with some outlier girls earlier and later. Anyone older than 16 though was the rare duck. It's DEFINITELY gotten younger and younger through the years. I feel bad for anyo... |

Oh, Wormy -- honey! I'm sorry that happened. Terribly embarrassing at the time, and even now. Over time, though, I promise that it will be less and less a difficult memory for both of you. As your cohort ages, the guys DO grow up and mature (most of them, anyway :?), and as they get girlfriends, lov... |

You're welcome T!! ! :D And all who have not been to gyno -- please go. When I was younger I was shy, highly physically modest, had hair-trigger startle responses, didn't like to be touched by strangers, easily embarrassed, etc. SO, I completely understand reluctance to do this exam. But we owe it t... |

It's on the counter, Lau. Right next to the plate of fried spam and kippers. It's a lovely old-fashioned, three-layer buttercream-frosted cake. Light the sparklers on top when you are ready, Lau. (Might wait until PostP is paying attention since he will like the shinies on top). :-) It's chocolate, ... |

SoS, hi. I started doing hatha yoga a couple years ago. I find that when I am really stressed, if I do deep breathing -- in through the nose, out through the mouth -- several times, whether it's for a few seconds or a minute or two, I can tone down the worst of the anxious feelings. It helps if I cl... |
