As shown at the link, if they did not make these adjustments, then there would appear to be 20% more global warming than there really is! Looking at several of the links involved, that's not really true. All that's shown is a quote that there would be 20% more global warming than there really is. W...

Noone uses fear to sell movie tickets, or cars, or Legos. The gun industry and NRA want you to believe that you need more guns to protect yourself, from this, or that, or whatever. They want you to believe they are standing up for your rights, and for freedom, and they manipulate you with that rhet...

Well said. Also, this guy had a couple thousand pounds of car under his control. I remember the Tyler TX courthouse shooting where the killer didn't get very far before taking fire from an armed citizen. That person was killed in the fire, but he drew the killer away from a defenseless woman and ch...

Here we again in. Hold on I have Asperger's and I can get laid in my sleep. Looking back though I'd sooner not have, quite a traumatic experience that one. I think the problem with this guy is not that he had Asperger's but that he was a complete and utter tit, well that's Dr Greys diagnosis of him...

Cool for you. A lot of people will do that, and the gun industry will encourage it, but obviously all of these guns in circulation are not making society a safer place. It may make you feel secure, but that is illusion. You could be carrying twenty guns and someone could still drive by you on the s...

This is the only TV show I'm tuning in every week for. Kruger is a beautiful and ferociously competent, intelligent, and hard working actress. If anything, I think we don't see more of her in movies because she would easily upstage anyone she shares a scene with. The guy who plays the mexican cop is...

Yeah, some of these tools are a whole different ball game from scripting languages. There's a sense that scripting languages defy any attempt to develop an application architecture, whereas programming languages do not, and I think that's where the dividing line is. But take something like Wordpress...

Good link and nick, crackers. OP, here are some grieving support groups as well: http://www.wellspan.org/body.cfm?id=1296 I think those are Lancaster, but I'm not positive. What you're going through is very hard, whether you're AS or not. Remember that you're not alone, and that it doesn't mean that...

Where are you located, OP? Town and state. Maybe we can help find local resources. A support group or even just other WP members.

nod. I'm not a huge fan of win 8, but Metro's easy enough to avoid. The start menu can be replaced with aftermarket freeware, but I haven't bothered. I just add the icons I use a lot to the quick-start tray and then use shift-number keyboard combo to run them. First icon is shift-1, second is shift-...

This is a great article, and the author lays the issues out very well. http://codesuppository.blogspot.ca/2013/04/so-your-teenager-tells-you-they-want-to.html#!/2013/04/so-your-teenager-tells-you-they-want-to.html Many, though not all, of the same principles apply to many other STEM fields. This thread bothers me tremendously. Part of the problem is that a lot of people these days are trying to position themselves so that they "can work in computers". Because they heard there are jobs there. That's an oversimplification, but not as much as you might think. I'm a senior software develop...
