I'm sorry, but there ARE some harmful/perverted fetishes out there, unless you somehow find child abuse/bestiality acceptable practices...

May I also note that anyone that gets offended by a diagnostic label is being way freaking oversensitive. People need to understand that labels are something psychologists and neurologists use to treat your condition, and there is nothing wrong with them. There is no black and white of 'ASD and NT'....

One thing here that baffles me--sex is a-okay, but sexual fetishes are not? I think either both should be against the TOS or neither should. That term is so hilariously broad that it discriminates against anything from a guy that likes feet a whole lot to a real sicko/pervert.

Don't disclose until AFTER you are hired. They can deny you a job and say it was for other reasons, but they CANNOT fire you for not disclosing prior to hiring.

"Sorry ... but your department has been outsourced due to contract renegotiations. You may collect your severance check at the front desk. Have a nice day!" How does the ADA cover that? That's being laid off, not terminated. "Sorry, we don't think your social skills are up to snuff, so we're lettin...

Actually they cannot. It's pretty hard to fire someone with ADA coverage, because they know that if they refuse to make accommodations, you could sue. For that reason HR departments will usually try pretty aggressively to not attempt to fleece people with ADA coverage, lest firing them be labeled re...

This means that your work CANNOT fire you for reasons related to your disorder, and you do not have to provide proof of diagnosis to get this coverage. The americans with disabilities act means that they can only move you into a different position with an equivalent pay grade IF they find you incapa...

They are REQUIRED BY LAW to allow you to have an advocate in the us. It is COMPLETELY unacceptable for them to tell you no, and I would bring up the ADA if I were you, and call up the ACLU if you have to (they go gaga over this kind of stuff). They violated the law by not allowing you to have an adv...

This is not as applicable if you are not going out with someone you met on the internet, but TELL SOMEONE WHERE YOU ARE GOING. All of us know we can be a little naive. Always better to have someone know where you are and seem a little paranoid than to have no one know and wind up hurt. Anyway, that ...

Both my boyfriend and I are diagnosed NVLD. I cannot tell you how awesome it is to not have to make eye contact or read body language. I cannot tell you how awesome it is times ten to not have to read between the lines. It's awesome times a million to be able to repeat myself over and over without b...

Don't worry too much about it. Even if he gets that label, I promise you that he'll be fine. It's hard, yeah, but it's also not a death sentence. A neurologist once told my parents that I'd never make it through high school, and I'm halfway through a CS degree. DO NOT allow the school to do the test...

Hey. I will say that I am a 21 year old female. This is not a username I typically (or ever) use because I don't want anyone in my personal life to find out I use a website like this (mostly because 'lol aspie, r u serious?' All of them know I have it but they would think it super hilarious whereas ...
