actually, I do this a lot. I often have difficulties speaking what is on my mind. Even during face to face interactions, there are times I will pull out my phone and type a message instead of speaking it simply because I can be much more precise in text than I have ever been in talking. During meltd...

I always associate accounts (and by extension, people) to avatars. I honestly forget who people are if they change their avatar.

Honestly, I found that taking these as compliments was the best thing I could do.
When someone would tell me I was weird, I thanked them. What they meant was I wasn't like them... and I had no desire to be like most of 'them'.

I recently moved from a nice quiet suburb in Phoenix to downtown San Jose... The difference was day and night. The noises, the traffic, the smells... everything was different. When I first got here, I didn't even have a place to live, so I hopped from hotel to hotel based on the lowest rate of the n...

One of the most important things in teaching someone with ADHD/ASD is to get them interested in it. If you can capture their attention, they will practically teach themselves. I know that sounds oversimplified, but it is very much the truth. I haven't ever taught music, but in teaching, there was ba...

The worst I have experienced was not by a classmate, but by a teacher that disliked me in fourth grade. She sat me down in the middle of the class (gathered in a circle around me) and had each of the class (roughly 30 kids) each tell me one thing they disliked about me. If they couldn't think of som...

Cant see the video on my computer. Basically you're asking folks who have recreationally used acid, and/or pot, how it has effected them as autistics. Pot tends to make folks mildly more 'autistic'- ie more into their own thoughts, and less extravert while high. But its not debilitating either on o...

"adult" is just a silly game the NT's like to play. ^----THIS! I am an eternal child. No matter what physical age I am, I will always be a kid on the inside. I have no interest in work, creating a family, or other "adult" things... It makes no sense to me why "normal" people obsess about such thing...

This is a bit of a tangent, but I have had (and sometimes still have) trouble with this reciprocity aspect of socialisation, yet at one point at work I decided for myself "You know what, I'm gonna give it a try and pay more attention to the 'How are yous' and 'I'm fines'", but I had 2 co-workers I ...

lol. You are FAR from being alone in this. My special interests take over every aspect of my life. During work, I am thinking about them (and looking them up online). When interacting with others, I talk about them. If given the opportunity, I would do nothing but study my special interests at lengt...

For me, it is usually a case of "didn't know". For example, I didn't know that when people asked how you were, it was rude to just answer the question rather than asking how they were in return. I didn't know that it wasn't so much a question as a basic social interaction. Social reciprocity, as wit...
