Bombaloo, how old is your son? You wrote: "Also, the items that the incentives and consequences can be applied to needs to be clearly defined at the outset and only modified under clearly understood conditions." Yeah I want to have it all figured out before we start so there is not much change when...

I had our daughter create her own scale (with our help to ensure it was reasonable, and sensible), so she has several options for her points. She gets 5 per 'reward' and 5 are valued at $1...she can cash out at the end of the week if she chooses. |

Just a bit of differing opinion, and while all the other suggestions might correct as well, this is what I discovered by observing my daughter and my wife. Daughter does the same thing...you say stop, and she continues, no matter how it's said, unless it's a scream, she wouldn't stop. I observed thi...

I do want to let him go, I want him out of my life, I just know that he hasn't really done anything wrong and I don't know the least hurtful way possible to do it. I'm not going to tell him about the experience, it's not something I can really talk about to people I know. I can't do it mentally, bu...

From what I can judge in your post, I don't really think you want to let go of him anyway.
This...all of it. |

I'm in the same boat my friend...it's tough, I agree. After 13 years, wife and I finally agreed to separate. We connected at an early age, and it turns out we're different people with different interests. If it weren't for the kids, we both know our relationship wouldn't have lasted very long. I kno...

I do not "overeat", I do not use food as comfort, although I have in the past. My lower GI tract is shot from years of eating nothing but fast food and candy. Therefore, I can't lose weight if I eat even minute amounts of wheat or dairy. A year ago I bought the book Wheat Belly by Dr. William Davis...

dr. adkins discovered this [increasing metabolism via carb restriction/ketogenesis] back in the 60s, it is not news but it is still controversial. the main thing is to avoid fast-metabolising foods, get adequate proteins [to avoid hypoprotenemia and its associated ails such as a propensity towards ...

I used to be 350+ lbs, with type II diabetes, hypertension, all that fun stuff. I wouldn't recommend surgery, or extreme exercise, or any other highly evasive treatment. Instead, read this book. It changed my life: http://www.amazon.com/Why-We-Get-Fat-About/dp/0307474259/ Diabetes is gone, hypertens...

On Christmas, my wife left her phone on the couch where I was sitting. She recieved a text from her boss. I read it. Wish I hadn't. She has been having an affair with him for 7-8 months, but I thought everything was going great between us. She swears it is over and she wants to be with me, and that...

She's treating you like you're mentally challenged. I'd say forget about her. How do I know this? Because I get treated like that all the time due to my speech impediment. That + my social awkwardness makes me come off as a slow person, even though I'm pretty damn sure I'm smarter than most people ...
