Even if you did socialize in childhood more, you still wouldn't like it and wouldn't need it. It comes with being autistic and being drained by socializing. It's the way you are. It couldn't have been changed.

I think he feels overwhelmed by the frequency of you contacting him. When he doesn't answer or signs off, it means he isn't in a mood to communicate/deal with you. The reality is like this... I have been there before many many times. This usually ends when the other person gets so fed up, s/he just ...

That is so true. When I was a kid I went to some assembly with my mom. The speaker asked everyone there to raise their hand if they lived in a dysfunctional family. I was really surprised when my mother told me to raise my hand; I thought that what I was living through was normal. She assured me it...

Some people are so natural at pretending to be a nice person. But I have learned some things. For example, however nice someone may be to you, if he/she starts bitching to you about someone else quite easily, then that is an indication that he/she will eventually do or might already have been doing...

If I could become typical, I surely would choose to be that. I don't understand people who say they wouldn't want to be cured. Maybe they have good relationships with their family and have a nice circle of supportive friends. I have nothing. I just want to belong.

In my case the hypothesis is true. I was looking for someone who is exactly like me so that we could understand and accept each other. I got married without knowing what Asperger's is. I just knew that I was extremely lucky to find someone who thinks exactly like me in a world where no one understoo...

His parents support him financially and they are extremely wealthy so he has no motivation to go to school or get a job, nor do I think he could hold down a job. He works for his dad now doing easy cleaning at his office. I wonder if things would be different if it was financially necessary for him...

ASDsmom is telling the correct way of dealing with her. Once she writes something inappropriate like that, you close the conversation. She is disrespectful and clearly messed up. I would advice my friend to get rid of her. Avoid inappropriate people because they know no boundaries and can put you in...
