The character of Jubal is, as I recall, briefly mentioned in Genesis in a single one sentence line. Almost nothing is known of this character apart from what you yourself mention here, so I don't know what else actually can be said about him. However, the character of Tubalcain who was apparently t... |

What's y'alls interpretation of the character of Jubal in the Bible , Genesis , who is " the father of all who handle the harp " , etc. (All-? musicians) ? He is Cain's great-great-great-great grandson . The Biblehub site was rather down , in their interpretation , on him " and his w... |

Another aspie site I used to go to did seem to be thick with religious members, and the atheists were not a loud presence. Hmm Ill have to go to that site and make a loud presence then! Ill just say gods not real with a mischievous grin on my face. That kinda mischief would've added some spice to t... |

Ignore imposing Atheists, and they would soon exhaust their time and money in a vain attempt to recruit the last three individuals on the planet who don't already know too well about their ideology. I've been an atheist for decades and I've never even thought of trying to convert anybody to atheism... |

It doesn't have to be an either/or thing. Philosophy is scalable. :D Back in the day (the classical period), philosophy was used as a tool by individuals, showing them how to live a good life. As you might be able to tell from my avatar, I'm quite interested in Roman Stoicism. This philosophy is de... |

Thank for starting this thread on the importance of philosophy, Cato Publius. Could you clarify which aspects of the ideology of liberalism you consider especially pernicious? The term is used in a number of different contexts with a number of different meanings. I thought that Locke himself was a ... |

A couple of years ago I went on this site and I saw a poll about religion. Apparently about 50 percent of us are atheists. Does this mean that 50 percent of autistics are atheists? I don't think so. The internet in general is full of atheists. Look at Reddit. It is a site for everyone and easily 60... |

Ahh ... liberals. They care so much about women, racial minorities and homosexuals. There's nothing wrong with that. I just wish that more liberals cared about high-functioning autistics. I've noticed that liberals almost never talk about our rights. I once to r/suicidewatch. An aspie there spoke a... |

Why do people assume only Caucasions can be racist? Racism is racism. I don't see why the poll was put in the perspective of white supremacy. I'd guess the poll assumes only white people are reading or will vote. But surely that assumption itself would be casual though probably unconscious racism? ... |

After seeing certain threads over time I'm wondering if there is a significant proportion of AS/autistics who hold racist views. Or, to use their language, are very concerned about "preserving white heritage" (and/or "preserving the white race"). Or is there a "silent major... |

The problem here is that evolutionary ethics still doesn't have any way to endorse what we typically consider moral behavior. Surely if we think along such utilitarian trains of thought, it becomes acceptable to make cruel and callous decisions in both paradigms. We would have to seriously split so... |

NO ONE ever made the claim that atheists either can't have moral standards, or that they cannot behave ethically. That's not the point. What they cannot do is explain why morals should matter at all in the first place if all we are IS matter. Atheists have no problem explaining the subjective value... |

Atheism is only a position on one question - the existence or not of God, godesses, gods, however understood. Not all or even most atheist philosophers reject meaning or ethics; in practice most humans continue to live as though there were some moral absolutes, even if we disagree as to the boundar... |

It's clear to me at this point that you are confusing philosophical justification, and justification in a legal setting. When you philosophically justify something, you establish that it is coherent, and that it has a reasonable grounding in epistemology/ἐπιστήμη. Yes, this is what I meant by 'just... |
