So right now I am rated as a casual chess player and I would like to level up a bit into intermediate ranking. I solve chess puzzles everyday and I always play people who are better than me. Losing doesn't matter to me as long as I learn something. With that being said does anyone have and tips or a...

Does anyone know of a chess club in the Lexington or Columbia SC area? I see that there is one in Columbia but I think it's defunct. I am just looking for a casual game or two and a place to hang out.

It is definitely nothing fancy since I am in the middle of teaching myself Python, but I wrote a text version of Cthulhu Dice that can be run in a terminal or using IDLE. It's nothing huge or practical, but I am proud of it. I did it more to learn how to code functions. If anyone is interested in th...

These are all awesome tips. I really want to stay away from Ubuntu as I ran that for a few years and.. well.. just got sick of it. I like it for my server that I mess with but for a laptop I would like a something with a little more learning experience. That is nothing again anyone who likes Ubuntu....

I love Arch. I have it installed on my laptop since I need something light since it's getting to be an older laptop and my power usange is a factor. It took a while to install but once it was loaded I can't really see a need to change. I use it with an XFCE desktop. I love it because you can change ...

If I remember correctly, they said at Linux Academy quite often "EXT3 is stable enough now..." so I would go with that if presented with the option.

I have looked through the Arch wiki (which I love BTW) and have read about installing a multilib. But my laptop is i686 so I shouldn't need it. I have also read about deleting a .so file, but I cannot find it in my system for the life of me. Here is the error I get in the terminal.. Installing break...

I love Arch. It works well on my laptop. I can change and manipulate what I need to when I need to. There are just a few things I don't like such as not being able to get Steam to work. I also love Fedora. It works beautifully on my desktop. But it just doesn't work as well on my laptop. But I can g...

I read through a few posts. It seems like a decent start. There are still a few things to clean up but the content is decent. I'll mark it as a favorite and stop back here and there. I will look through the Slack installation info for sure, though. I am using Arch now on my laptop and Fedora on my d...

I was wondering if anyone knew of any board games or table top RPG's that were good for 1 player. I heard Arkham Horror was decent and that is right up my alley. But I was wondering it there were any decent table top RPG games. I actually have never played a table top RPG either but am getting into ...

So my new obsession is Numbers Stations and I am looking for a shortwave radio that can tune them in. I have heard that single side-band may be needed but I can't find anything that says for sure. I picked out a cheap radio (because I do not want to spend that much on an obsession) but it does not h...

Ok so I am studying for my LPIC1 exam so I can start making my way out of my current career and into a Linux based career. I am currently using Ubuntu and have gotten pretty officiant with the system and dangerous enough with the ins and outs of the Distrobution. I was thinking about changing distro...
