I suspect this topic might be tiresome to some people here. When I look at what my son can do, and when I read some posts by people here, I'm not surprised that some of the brilliant people in the world are aspies. You were both doing the "right" thing, I think. You were offering to pay, and she made a nominal attempt to pay, but gave in. Either way, she shouldn't be too put off by it, because buying dinner for either a friend or a potential girlfriend is okay by anyone's standards.
