Tony Attwood's cure is putting the child in their bedroom by themselves. Thats probably what gave me Asperger symptoms in the first place, my step father didn't like me so I was stored alone in my room for 15 hours a day, I can still remember the boredom as I didnt even have any toys to play with. ...

No, I'm not interested in curing my AS. I like the person it makes me, and wouldn't want to trade it to be an average, run-of-the-mill neurotypical. I can feel that the asperger in me are making me sit inside a glasbubble, I cant grab on the reality. To me, autism must defintly be something that is...

To help me and other aspies with ideas of what to work as :P And if you want to, you can tell a little about your job, if you like your job etc In my experience, knowing what others can do won't help you much, though it may help you, who knows. I know it's difficult, especially at this age, but my advice would be to mainly focus on your own education and not pay too much mind to your old classmates who are apparently most of them 'doing well'. What is this 1-day a week school you speak of? Is it like a work+school thing, where you are lea...

Can a person have both of these things? I heard how a few people have said they do, but I'm very curious. I want to write about a character in my story who has a problem related to selective mutism, yet has a diagnosis of autism. I just wonder if it's better saying she has both... or just one or th...

Everytime I tell an NT that I have autism, they don't believe me. I've had undiagnosed Autism for almost 23 years... therefore I've built myself a LOT of compensation mechanisms, to the point where I think I do a pretty good job of hiding my Aspie quirks... usually. I also find NTs frustrating to s...

I have Asperger's. Using public transport is definitely one thing that I require assistance with. The crowds make me feel nervous and painful, l oud sounds often override my senses and might make me cry or scream or melt down. Planning is another and because I can never work out people's intentions...
