Are there any New Agers here? Yes, and it was something of an inside comment. Ok, it seemed like you meant that this was an argument between christians and new agers :| I wasn't meaning for that to be a proper argument because that wasn't what was asked for. I was explaining why I personally believ...

And, believers may be altruistic, but they are altruistic in a much lesser form than those that are not believers. Altruism dependant upon a given object or a written/traditional concept is an exterior influence that has very limited, interdependant potential - as well as it being artificial, force...

I don't know that much about the history of Christianity. I believe in that because a: Life would be meaningless if we all ended up in the same place no matter what, and b: it's been in the Qur'an all along. That's a pretty stupid generalization. If Atheist Bob makes a donation to charity and gets ...

If we deny the existence of God, it's a way to avoid responsibility. How is the idea that an omnipotent being with a plan that has control over your life and soul NOT avoiding responsibility? Praying for guidance and declaring something was "God's will" are both absolving responsibility. This is th...

Psychologically I think it is a schizotypal/delusional/mentally ill trait actually, don't know if that fits :P But that kind of psychology is a bit narrowminded.

Would it be terrible? Quotas aren't meant to and shouldn't be used for hiring people that are dangerously underqualified, or for anyone that can cause danger or damage, I think that is pretty clear for everyone doing this practice. It would cause a drop in quality, - without risking "dangerous" situ...

UK/England seems to have a big problem with those things, I very often hear about truly awful incidents in that country, like it's a social hellhole. Some time ago I heard about some bullies attacking a girl who was walking her dog, scratching up her face with a knife and torturing her dog in front...

Sounds reasonable. And like a political act of loyalty to Israel maybe. I can't exactly place Schneerson, but he seem to have been a good guy. I'm wondering if you even read my whole post. Here is that quote from Schneerson one more time, I thought he said that in retrospect in relation to "It Is T...

If this is true then Islam clearly have many ancient methods of social control in their ideology. When that is the case it is expected that the religion/ideology modernizes to modern day standards, like what Christianity has done. A religion is bound to have a lot of baggage left from when it was co...

What an awful person and what an awful society for letting that happen. Incredibly bad, below the lowest level of humanity... Shouldn't schools function in the principle of cooperation and solidarity, like public schools, not like the privatized schools? The private schools being established in Sweden is a step towards the wrong path in my opinon. I agree in that education needs competition, but it's hard to see that a fre...

They should obviously fix that law in Northern Ireland. I don't know why they don't. I'm also curious about how the centralized English/London UK government/system is working out for N.I.

Sounds reasonable. And like a political act of loyalty to Israel maybe. I can't exactly place Schneerson, but he seem to have been a good guy. It's impressive to see the idealism of Obama, "the other side of the US" as Oliver Stone said. I wonder how rational those ideals are, and what they really a...

It's an old dogma to not lower your own level to that of the bully/criminal/thief whatever. If you instead treat people with love, you keep a standard and a principal that is worth far more than playing dirty (maybe this is christian, actually). E.g. ideals, responsibility, role models and regulation.
