"I understand that you have Asperger's and you don't get stuff that people are supposed to do. So this relationship's just been kind of masochistic for me. I'm not doing that to myself anymore." -First and only girlfriend, before breaking up with me At least you aren't virgin anymore, are you? That...

I was wondering if anyone else (non-NT) finds that busking is easy to do. I generally need a substantial deal of distance from people, and new people (especially in large numbers) can be really difficult for me, but I find that especially when I chipbusk (I write and perform chiptunes (original musi...

I was diagnosed with Aspergers three months ago, and since then I have been realizing and analyzing how much of many of my "numerous oddities" are related to this form of autism. One thing that I am in need of opinions on (especially from other aspies) is my constant need/want for a partner, AKA a ...

I've only ever had one relationship, and that's how it started for me, as well. The girl met me and we started hanging out often and coming over to my dorm to watch stuff on Youtube, and then one night she came over and we were hanging out, and erm...yeah. On her end, things were a long time coming...

It'd be nice if people could just say "hey, I like you, wanna come over and make some sex on top of me?" ^^ This (with different phrasing) has happened to me on occasion... but I can never tell whether they mean it unless they get even more direct. Actually I think that's how almost every relations...

It seems like they should be more understanding if they know that I'm not the same but don't always look like it to them, because then when I do or say something that surprises them for whatever reason, it should come as a reminder that I'm not the same even if I sometimes sync up with them socially...

How do you guys stand dirt and sweat with aspie sensory issues and all? I can't. I HAVE to shower at least twice a day or I go crazy. And break out in huge imaginary rashes too! It doesn't become a sensory issue unless I'm forced to wear clothes and go out in public without having showered. If I'm ...

I've found that people really love telling me that I "don't seem like [you] have Asperger's", which is simultaneously completely maddening and pretty offensive (the latter for several obvious reasons). It has, however, gotten me thinking a lot. People say things like that, and then proceed to be bew...

It's always been an as-needed thing for me. If I'm going out in public, or someone is coming to see me, I'll clean myself up, and very meticulously so, because I've been told that people are put off by not being clean-shaven or showered or whatever. Otherwise, you're lucky if you can get me to even ...
