Does your field *require* serious makeup or can you get away with as slight amount as possible? And the follow up, is it a field you chose or your parents (via pressure)? It's the public health field, so I'm not too sure. I chose this field on my own after leaving a field my family preferred (they ...

You applied to only one job? Did you expect a hundred job offers from just one application? You should have a hundred applications out there by now! Play it as a spammer or telemarketer would: saturate your area with applications to increase the odds that just one place will hire you. THAT is how i...

Still searching. I applied to one job, but got rejected, and most jobs require '1+ years of experience', which I don't have because I've been in university and don't have a driver's license or car.

Old enough, in theory, yes. Financially capable of doing so? No, especially not with my 30K in loans thanks to college (I graduate this December).

Recently, I've been having issues where family members try to force me to wear makeup (despite complaints about discomfort and the fact that makeup f*****g SMEARS EVERYWHERE, which may or may not trigger my OCD) and have expressed a desire for me to quit video games (because I need 'adult' interests...

It's something that I heard about while at a lecture about helping people with developmental disabilities, and I was wondering if it was true, if you really can be overstimulated by your own stims. I've never experienced that myself (although, every once in a while I can get tired if I stim for too ...

I'm not really good at making friends, either (most I've made was via campus or social skills group), but in regards to hobbies, maybe have someone serve as a mentor and see if you have anything else in common with them? If you enjoy being taught by them, maybe it could be something more.

If you mean 'summer', then yes. Because I have no school work to distract myself with, all the negative thoughts come rushing right in. I can only hang out with people on weekends because my mother is my only form of transportation and because there is no mass transit near my house. But thanks to th...

I really, really hate how my body language and words are regularly interpreted as anger or rudeness, even after I explain myself, especially when it's family members misinterpreting me. Ironically enough, these same family members insist that I try to make friends and all I can think is "Well, ...

History needs to actually reflect the world. In both of my 'world' history classes in middle school and high school, it was 98% Europe, 1% Asia, and 1% Africa--as if Asia, Africa, and South America had absolutely nothing to do with how the world has been shaped and just watched s**t happen. Never mi...

I would suggest reaching out to an abuse organization or perhaps seek legal help? Getting a therapist--an effective one--would be a good idea as well, so you could talk to someone about this and hopefully recover. Here's a national hotline website: http://www.thehotline.org/ Thanks for the number. ...

Hell no. We're stigmatized enough without someone forcing us to wear a big sign. It's one thing if you choose to wear a wristband (for example, someone needing accommodations might wear a wristband to ensure he/she gets them), but to be forced to wear one? No. Just no. Maybe the wristband proponent...

The backlash comes from misinformation and extremism. The misinformation comes from 1.) people who oppose feminism and thus create a smear campaign against it and 2.) people misinterpreting what real feminists preach. The extremism comes from people who claim to be feminists but are really man-hater...

Sure. Why not? You don't need other people's permission to write. As long as you put in the time and effort to write, read, and improve your craft, you should do fine.
