I'm thinking of other Aussie birds suitable for WP name tags. Rainbow Lorikeets. Pretty multicoloured medium sized parrots mainly green. Sleep in huge groups in single trees. Cockatoos. White Sulphur Crested. They have bright yellow feathers on the top of their heads that stand up when they are focu...

Thanks for enlightening me about those raptors. The name itself sounds menacing let alone how they were depicted in Jurassic Park. That last scene with them in the kitchen with the kids is permanently engraved on my memory. Aussie emus are docile. They have amazing feathers that start with one spine...

Perisphone29 what's a Velociraptor? Never heard of it. Sounds like something out of Juracic Park. What other unusual birds do we have here in Australia? KOOKBURRA or the Laughing Jackass. It must have really spooked the British convicts when they first arrived here in the late 18th century and heard...

Ha Ha. It's great having a bit of FUN for a change! Can get too bogged down in negative stuff. Now how about some Aussie bird names for a change? I'm thinking LYREBIRD. It has a loud voice (I do too - is this an aspie trait?), mimics other bird calls (like some ASDs repeat what is said?) and the mal...

I just love being called a yellow bellied woodpecker. My new name on WP. I started off as butterfly then hummingbird then some type of cute titmouse. Wow! It changes my self image and sense of identity in a positive way. I got a bit of a fright when i first saw yellow bellied because here in Austral...

It's interesting how we are on two ends of the colour spectrum. The gentle soothing pastels and the punchy in your face neons. I like both but think the neons serve an actual purpose of making me more alert. As i said at the start it feels like they snap my snapses. Create an electrical chemical cha...

Hi skibum. I real really compatible with you like we are in tune. Your comment on my comment about still being alive when all the odds appear to be stacked against us shows how special we are. Why we should never put ourselves down or never let anybody do it to us. I am only seeing this for the firs...

Thank you all you precious people for sending your good wishes to me. Yes it has been a struggle an uphill battle but i got there in the end. Just having someone there who comes to see me every week has already made a huge difference in my life. And it seems to be having a snowball effect. I have he...

Wow skibum thank you for your share about your visual stimming. So beautiful. What you have loved looking at and how you have described it. I think i am like you too but i have not known it until now. I am going to focus on it now and really enjoy it.

Thank you Isabella for your observation and insight that it might be my visual stim. I never thought of that. Didn't know about visual stims. I am very visual anyway. Surprising since i was born severely short sighted and could barely see my hand a foot from my face until i got glasses when i was se...

I sometimes wonder what it would be like to be inside a small room painted entirely in fluroescent lime green. I live in a rental property so i cannot paint the walls here. Can anyone else diagnosed with AS like me relate to this?

Thank you dear moderator for moderating. In Assange's unauthorised autobiography allegedly spoken in his own words, he says he probably does have Aspergers. He thinks all men have it to some degree. I will look up the page reference tomorrow and repost. In bed now and it is freezing in Sydney which ...

I think having been in therapy on and off for 50 years has enabled me to stand back from my AS and view it from the outside looking in. One arrogant shrink told me i must not be AS because i could do this and 'they' could not. I got up and walked out. And even got my money back because i had only be...

Does anyone else here find that neon or fluro colours make their brain more alert? Make their synapses snap? It definitely happens to me. Lime green in particular but also hot pink and orange. I have a lot of lime green objects in my house. Even an empty 'duck' brand toilet cleaner plastic bottle th...
