Yes I have the same situation. I had roommates and workmates ask if i had Asperger's and I alwasy brushed it off as them joking or insulting me. When I finally started reading up on it everything fit and I knew I had it. Over time I got to see my memories in a new light and realized my parents knew ...

I hate the direction Apple is going. $10,000 gold watches. $300 book with no words just pictures of their products. It's so elitist and out of touch with normal people. They keep dropping the interesting tech things to focus on high priced fashion nonsense. Tim Cook is no good.

Count me in too. I'm also quitting now. I found the NoFap community on Reddit and it has motivated me to try. I am on almost 30 days of not fapping. I got a lot of energy back after 7 days but am in a trough now and feeling the pull back to the addiction. They say really good effects come after 90 d...

I sleep during the day and stay up all night. I feel more productive late at night when the sun is down and everyone is sleeping and there are less distractions or expectations that I should be communicating with people. It's also a nice excuse to avoid things. Like oh sorry I missed that I was slee...

Yes I have read and really loved that book! I also could not put it down and got so many insights from it. I've recommended it to a lot of people too. This reminds me I should re-read it since it has been awhile.

Another Python fan here. I do a lot in C also. You can be very productive in Python. I do find myself gravitating back to C always though because it feels more solid and I can build components that are not throwaway bits as the Python feels. What do you all think about Python 2 vs 3? Seems quite a m...

I feel for you Betzalel. I'm also a software developer and it felt like your first post could have been written by me. I've always felt disconnected and like I'm not a real person. At work everyone else seems to be friends with eachother and do things outside work together and I'm just some troll wh...

I saw a friend post a photo online of them having a BBQ and cooking hot dogs with a bunch of others over a fire. I immediately thought oh, I would have liked to be there wish they invited me. Then I realized I've lived in this place for 15 years and no one has invited me to a 4th of July BBQ. With h...

Oh I think it is great for aspies because computers are very simple and very logical. And you can work from home on your own schedule. Being able to intensely focus is a huge asset in programming. And you can be alone in your own world of code for hours and days on end creating whatever interests yo...

I've been programing since I was a little kid. It's a great fit for aspies! I always recommend http://processing.org for people learning. Great tutorials there and free tools. I can relate very much to what you've posted starkid. When I had a girlfriend before it was great and I felt like I was done. I just needed that one person. One stop shop for friendship and intimacy. We've tried many times over the years but it never works out between us. After a few months I lose e...
