i'm beginning to feel like i don't belong here any more than i do in the NT world. anyone else feel like as much of an alien here sometimes as they do out there? sometimes i doubt there is such a thing as a community anywhere in which i could feel accepted, and today is definitely one of those days...

i like the spoon theory, but it is too complicated for most of the people who have been close to me. i keep it simple. Aspie means i 1) have trouble reading between the lines the way "people" normally do 2) i don't get jokes because i'm very literal and 3) lights and sounds and textures and so fort...

Use the spoon theory. Take out lupus, and replace with Aspergers.

1.) Yes, a few years ago. It was a friend of a friend who became a friend of mine and a few others. 2.) It never became inappropriate other than to myself. I knew it was wrong and I struggled with it. I struggled with the thought "why am I so obsessed with this person? Why am I thinking about them d...

I rarely remember my dreams, and when I do they are hardly realistic. I remember one a few years back where I was riding a bike on a tour. Not long after that I was doing some mapping stuff on Google Earth (map geek), and I saw these placeholders along a particular highway. Turns out it was a guy's ...

I'm only a suspected Aspie, but knowing what I know has made me more comfortable in being myself. Having said that, I haven't told anyone. My parents, my family, my co-workers, my friends, my bosses, none of them know. My gf was the one who told me one time that she thought I seemed autistic. The li...

When I look at pictures of myself as a child and teen, my eyes look like they are starring far off somewhere and are not looking at the camera. This is so even in some photos where I am actually making "eye contact" with the camera. It still looks like I am looking somewhere else, like I am looking...

So sorry about the things you're going through. Maybe a little time alone could help. Away from all of these people?

50 is not too late. You deserve to be happy and to be treated well.

Thank you very much. That is a good way to look at it. I don't feel like I have anyone to talk to about these things, so this is very helpful.

I'm in a bad place right now. My gf has been trying and trying to find a job. She's been on interviews but nothing ever comes of it. Nothing. The gf of a friend of mine went out job hunting last week, got an interview today, and walked out with a job. She's no more qualified than my gf is, yet she s...

Yeah, you can still enjoy. The key is to have more positive moments than negative ones, and if if the games can provide positive moments, it may be helpful in the long run.

Sounds like you're conflicted whether you're in a fog or not. You don't deserve to be this way. The question is, how to find satisfaction. Maybe clarity is what you need, but you just need to see something good. Perhaps getting away from your routine can help some.

Sorry to hear you're going through this. I go through spells like this myself. I feel as though it's me against the world, I tune out of everything. I feel very hollow. Is there any kind of activity you used to take pleasure in? Or do take pleasure in? Anything that can take your mind off everything...

People have told me over the years that I am negative. When I was a teen, I was told "you're too young to be so negative."
