^ Theoretically there are VoLTE dumbphones out there, but good luck finding one that doesn't break apart so quickly (and doesn't run KaiOS, which kinda defeats benefits of a classic phone). Or it's just my unluck... There are several of them out there - I'm currently running a Sonim XP3Plus, a rugg...

A smartphone is a spork. It does many things, but none of them well. Sometimes it doesn't even work well as a phone. And don't get me started about keyboard parallax problems when typing..... That is EXACTLY right - a jack of all trades, master of none. A grossly overpriced mediocre phone and a HOR...

I just don't see the point of the thing. It didn't make sense in 2007, and it doesn't make sense now. *shrug*

Literally none of my friends use traditional desktops. You would be amazed how often I have to show them how to do basic tasks (e.g. download a file, print, etc.) I, personally, haven't used a traditional desktop computer in several years, but I do have a Chromebook [not recommended] that I use for...

They're putting touchscreens into everything. I hate them. No tactile feedback. You actually have to look at the screen to get confirmation that you've pressed the icon. Touchscreens in cars? Extremely dangerous. In old-style cars I can change the radio preset by feel alone without ever taking my e...

I have personally always used some variety of Windows (I'm not a Linux nerd or anything like that). I worked IT for a number of years, and I've used 'em all. I tell people that I have the same agreement with Apple that I have with Microsoft: They both keep doing stupid things, and I keep cussing at...

Cute and fun video - but power windows are stupid. Like most other things on modern cars - an answer to a question nobody was asking. I'd argue the fact that they've become almost universally adopted is a good sign that someone was asking and also that most car buyers prefer that answer. Not...

That doesn't surprise me at all. Some of the techiest people I've known were the least fans of smartphones. Smartphones are content consumption devices, not content creation devices. This is all true. Most of my time online is spent either creating something, or doing research. I insist on having a...

I've been "over" on-line auctions for many years now. I try to find "Buy It Now" (BIN) items whenever possible - if the price is fair, I buy it and go about my day. It has to be pretty important and/or rare for me to fool around with an auction any more.

I too worked in High Tech my entire career - and I too have less than zero use for a smartphone. A horrid computer, and a mediocre phone that costs way too much. I have written HUGE rants on this subject, but I'll spare everyone the pain - including myself - and just say "no thank you". Co...

This is yet another symptom of the dumbing down and decontenting of computer software, and the rise of the smartphone and "Apps". Very frustrating....
