Good luck! Thanks! Figured I'd post an update. The actual assessment got pushed back by a week on account of the doctor falling ill. I hate having appointments cancelled last minute, but at least it was for a legitimate reason. Day was pretty much ruined though. Next week: different doctor than I t...

YES, exactly. That.

I think the way you feel is probably not outside the norm for anyone who doesn't fit the textbook description of the diagnosis (or used to, but doesn't anymore). About half the time, I'm not even sure whether my ADD (ADHD-I, primarily inattentive) dx was 'earned', even though I have major problems w...

Oh wow, guys, this thread cheers me so much. I've not been through the diagnostic process (and am eternally doubtful of whether or not I'm far enough onto the spectrum to actually be on the diagnosable end of it), but the things you said -- especially beneficii, JenniferJones2015, and cberg -- all t...

I saw it on Friday and was very impressed. I hadn't held out much hope, mainly because the first Avengers movie had disappointed me quite a bit, but I really enjoyed AoU. I loved that they took time to develop and flesh out the characters -- the witty banter was almost a bit much at times (EVERYONE ...

Anything that can help me remove myself from reality I am down for. I was obsessed now I am moderately entertained. I prefer books and manga. +1 to all of this. I was super into anime (and manga) ages ... seven to fifteen, sixteen, bit less from sixteen to twenty-ish. Kind of tapered out afterwards...

Hey alwaystomorrow, welcome back. :sunny: Thank you! I'm glad to be back. I get phases where even internet-based communication gets too much, which means no tumblr, no forums, definitely no facebook for me. And then I'll wander back. :) You're welcome here no matter what any doctor may say....

I'm super late to the party, but my two cents -- I thought I'd hate Captain America. PATRIOTISM! RIGHTEOUSNESS! But I had to watch all the prequels for the Avengers, right? Ah well, at least I'd get a good laugh, right? Boy, was I wrong. I wasn't expecting Steve Rogers. Captain America? To quote Buc...

My doctor recommended stimulant drugs to help with structure and organisation, which are the areas in which I have the most trouble. I haven't tried any yet, am unsure whether I will, but apparently, that's a common recommendation.

Hey guys, so. It's been twenty-two months from my intro post, and I've recently received a diagnosis of ADD with strong possibility of "mild" (doctor's words) ASD on the side. The doc who assessed me is an AD(H)D expert with limited experience in ASD issues, but they apparently consulted w...

I kind of circle. Most of the time, I'm a fan of a super quiet environment, don't listen to any music for months on end (if I do, I'll get the song or melody stuck in my head, which is really annoying) and even get annoyed with/distracted by low hums like those ZombieBrideXD mentioned. I'll put earp...

I'm a shipper. I'm the other way round -- shipping is my 'little detail', the thing I get stuck on and can't get past (and it's hard to discuss shows with people who don't do this -- probably true the other way round, too). I don't much care about relationships of characters unless it's hinted at. I...

I'm not sure whether or not this was observed in the context of the study, but I think it might be a cultural thing as well? When learning a second language, you usually get explanations of *how* things are done -- often in contrast or comparison to the respective L1. For instance, most people who'v...
