Nice to see someone thinking ahead. For me the care depends on the scenario. If in large groups (that seems to be the preferred choice for terrorist, and other, people planning on ruining your day) I increase my care. My confidence in my capabilities with an edged weapon have diminished with age, ho...

This sounds a lot like what they teach Boy Scouts. I think it applies, not only to guns/terrorism, but everyday life. If you try to prepare you'll be worlds ahead in the end.

It's easy to be a sweet pea when you imagine the happiness on the kids faces. :D

I did this when I retired in my early '60s. I'd been having a discussion with another employee (who recently started to grow his hair longer) and this mixed in with something I'd read or heard about little kids with cancer. This prompted a thought so I decided to donate my hair. But first I had to g...

I get very tired of idiotic people that think they're so funny. On Sunday I went to Lowe's to purchase some epoxy glue. I asked a worker standing there with a young trainee (looked like one) and asked him if he could tell me the location of epoxy glue. He put on a puzzled face and began asking quest...

With all of the discussion about high levels of crime and killing I wonder if anyone has taken the time to find out, if the killing is mostly in large dense urban areas, who is actually doing the killing? Can we say with any certainty the majority of killings are done by black and Hispanic people? I...

If it became a rebellion it would most likely be the government's hired guns that trigger it with scenarios similar to what they did at Waco in 1993 and Ruby Ridge the year before that. There is a point where civil obedience gets pushed to the breaking point and ignites widespread civil disobedienc...

the only qualm i would have about guns being legal in australia, is that the police would be paranoid like yours are when they pull you over for even a minor infraction. your cops are trained to treat everyone as if they are a potential gun carrier, and because of that, people get crash tackled and...

I personally have no problem with eating animals, as we are just one of many species that eat other creatures. If lions and wolves aren't going to stop eating other animals, I don't think I should have to, either. That's not a fair comparison because those animals are carnivores, while we are not. ...

SNIP What should I do? Bare my soul? Reveal a bunch of personally identifiable information to a group of hostile people with exceedingly vivid imaginations? Don't take me for as dumb as I look. We are not hostile. We love you just as much as you love us. We want you to grow with us....that's why we...

I did say that it takes a high level of accuracy to be a good hunter. If a lung shot is okay with you, then that's you. I don't have magical thinking about guns. I notice enough of my mistakes to expect that I have to exercise a lot of caution to beat the odds. Also, all my guns are functional and ...
