It's frustrating how almost all of these are tech jobs. Plays into a stereotype that we're all gifted in that area, and that it's ALL we're good at.

Sorry. Well the good news is they did still interview me! It's a really long process though, now they want a working interview. And I hopefully didn't screw the one today up. It sucks that you can never actually tell if it went badly because the interviewers won't tell you or show it. But I'm stayin...

So now the company, that seemed excited to do a second interview with me but hasn't taken any of my calls to confirm it, is posting craigslist ads. Maybe they need more than one person, but it makes me feel like they are looking for someone else because they are not going to hire me. I am paranoid t...

I was tentatively scheduled for a second interview with an organization that really seemed to like me, for a job that would be really great. I was supposed to call them and confirm, but in many calls (probably 20+) over the course of a week, I never managed to get hold of anybody. So since I've clea...

Tried calling them again today, still no answer. It's like they just suddenly vanished. Is it crazy to wonder if they recognize my number and are actively ignoring me?? Should I just go there on Wednesday as if there's a confirmed interview even if nobody ever confirms it?

I am trying desperately hard to return to my old field after having been fired from a job that I loved and held for 3 years with no problems, until they got a new director. I got right off on the wrong foot with her because I was having a very hard time in my life and immediately self-disclosed my a...

I hate the part where they ask you if YOU have any questions for THEM. I can never think of anything to ask.

I suddenly got paranoid about whether these could actually exist, not just within a company but that a company could put a name on a list that could be accessed by the other companies in the same field and keep a person from getting hired by ANYONE in that field. So I googled it, and there was some ...

There is apparently a weird and, to me, really gross trend called "trans-ableism" in which people who do not have disabilities claim they have "always felt like they had a disability" and argue that treatment should include things like amputating healthy limbs or intentionally bl...

I remember reading once about a whole autistic family who would have times where they would all scream together or jump on a big trampoline in their yard. I actually thought that sounded wonderful and sometimes I'm a little disappointed I'm not marrying an autistic woman just because it means that w...

My father has never received an official diagnosis so I can't be sure - he was born long before ASDs as we know them now were diagnosed in "higher-functioning" people, but he shares many traits with me, if only less pronounced. He's also really brilliant and we used to watch Jeopardy! toge...

I can tolerate the large amounts of commotion I have to deal with at work, especially during certain times of the day (like lunch time) when people are moving in and out of my personal space, loudly talking over each other, scream-laughing etc., much more on ...
