| As I'm driving, I tend to obsess over license plate double entendres, and I've heard this is common among aspies. But I have this other thing I've NEVER heard of before. The moment i see any short phrase in writing, my brain screams a "Wacky Packages" version of same. People somewhat younger than me... |

| They say that happy families are all happy in the same way, but unhappy families are each unhappy in a different way. On one hand, I get along better with aspies because we can quickly dispense with unnecessary social formalities. On the other hand, they are bored to death by my obsessions and I'm b... |

"Traffic" - Pinko Pinko 3. no album - MODMAN 4. various - various Palestinian rap groups 5. anything by Sondre Lerche If rap is all about downtrodden people who make the best of it, why doesn't Palestinian rap top the charts? ... |

In childhood, my neighbor two doors down was an old man whose Physics teacher at Princeton was Dr. Einstein.
He told me that Einstein stunk horribly. "We all hated him." he said. |

| often people will talk with you because they want to establish rapport. once they've done that, they won't need to talk with you so much again, because your "emotions are in sync." see, even these bigmouths probably don't want to keep yap yap yapping for its own sake - they just want cues that the r... |

| i've had mixed results. my former business partner was very aspie, and he was turned off by my "chummy" conversation style, he wanted something more formal. at work, there are aspies on a different wavelength from me. chit-chat with them is easy, but if we try to discuss work, we quickly disagree an... |

Aspie men surely comprehend the hard fact that women are just people like them, but with female organs.
That being said, sexual politics is a game in which aspie men are routinely humiliated by most women. Aspie men can be physically and verbally awkward, which few women will tolerate. |

| The ugly thing about adolescence: until then, your family totally covers for you and probably never said: from your 20s *you* cover for a partner, some kids, maybe your parents too, and maybe even grandkids too, until you die. Life is going to turn from a game into a grind, and nobody wanted to tell... |

| I can speak only for myself. In music/movies/etc. I'm not attracted to obscurity per se. For example "Stairway To Heaven" is the epitome of mainstream, but I'm absolutely fascinated with these 100 cover versions, none of which is rock & roll: http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2006/05/stairways_to_he... |

| This forum is for aspies who live in a world of normals. It's the same kind of thing as a forum for, say, Japanese with permanent residence in New York City. You could argue that they "should" assimilate by associating exclusively with locals... but certainly there are tips they can share with each ... |

| I learned about Asperger's about a year ago and immediately suspected that I may have it, but filed it away under "hypochondria." After I saw the TV show "60 minutes" tonight about the famous man who can recall 22,000 digits of pi from memory, I was moved by how his outlook, demeanor and even his lo... |
