My bad. I initially thought RedRobin's username was a reference to the bird, hence the use of the term "feathery" in my previous comment. Anyway, I read the preview of your story. It's good. There are some minor things I don't like (was it really necessary to make multiple references to the fact tha...

I've been plagued with that exact same scenario my entire life. Ultimately, around the time I was 16 or so, I gave up and said, "You know what? I've had enough of trying-and failing-to make close bonds with people. I'll let them come to me instead." So now I only talk to people in real life when the...

Zarith, I like your theory, and the pointing out of Christ's teaching of compassion. Thank you for posting. OliveOilMom, I actually like that song, but I do not see how it relates to the discussion. Thanks and no problem. I think that OliveOilMom (is that a Popeye referene, by the way?) posted that...

My Grads (Prom) is going to be in September. I'm not going to be attending, for several reasons: 1. It's way too expensive 2. There are many people in school who I'd rather not see again 3. One of the people I don't want to see again thought it was a great laugh to sexually harass me in school. Ther...

Why is there no volume?

And I agree: that sort of action should be punished. Whether he had autism or not doesn't matter. They're still adults. They should not treat a child that way.

English was my favourite subject in school as it was my easiest. Testimony if and of itself is the fact that, on the awards day for the last day of school, the creative-writing teacher said (and I quote), "A bit controversial but [my real name] is actually the best writer in the school." I found it ...

I'm in the same position as the OP. I'll be starting university in September. Obviously, because I haven't experienced it yet, I can't give the OP any advice but I must say that the advice given here is also helpful to me.

Hey. Thanks for the kind words TenPenPiece and WerewolfPoet. It's always nice to meet new people. In response to Werewolf's comment: 1. Yeah, joining clubs sounds like a good idea. If they have them, I'll join a drama club, a Christian club, a videogame club, a mountaineering club and maybe even a m...

Being new to these parts, I have no idea how good/bad your writing is RedRobin. However, everyone who commented here seems very enthusiastic about your book so I'll be sure to check it out once I have the time. It shows great initiative to complete a book, let alone get it published, so well done fo...

I'm sick of getting low-price headphones that always break so I got new headphones in the early hours of this morning (I go shopping at midnight-Tesco's open 24/7 and it's much quieter at that time) and my new headphones are awesome. They're DJ headphones so they definitely block out any other noise...

Want my advice, as an 18 year old who's been in your son's position? Make him a poster of all those brilliant people in history who had Asperger's. Especially include people who've done things that he's interested in (eg if he likes writing, include Mark Twain). If that doesn't work, leave things al...

While I don't discriminate against NTs and while I know one or two NTs who aren't like this, there are some common traits in many NTs that really confuse me: 1. Their obsession with drugs, smoking and alcohol. I mean, hello. These things are bad for you. You've been taught that since you were a litt...

Well, I suppose I had Asperger's my whole life as it's something we're born with. In the early years I was neglected so, if I did have something wrong with me, no one noticed. Then I went into foster-care and have been living with the same foster-family since I was five. When I was nine (third class...
