Welcome to the board. As far as those "tics" it could be what we call "stimming" http://autism.about.com/od/autismterms/f/stimming.htm No one can be 100% sure how a person will react to a suggestion that they have Aspergers. Your boyfriend seems quite open with you and himself about who he is so thi...

I do not do things well when I start a new project or job whatever it may be. But once I get into a routine or get comfortable or just "get it" many times I end up doing quite well or at least decent. Example back in college they had a grading point average system from 0 to 4 with 4 being equivalent...

25% You aren't that neurotypical. Social skills aren't your strong suit and you tend to have more skill in other areas, however, you may still enjoy socializing. It is likely that you are autistic. I would have guessed 32 to 35%. Wish I took this test at verious intervals and could compare. Last int...

I need extremely specific instructions, too... ...and once I get them, I'd better write them down. All I know to tell you is, go ahead and ask questions. Some of the TAs will get annoyed and think you are stupid. Those are the bad ones. The good ones know it's better to ask stupid questions than to...

I have been applying and cherry picking jobs that would be aspie friendly from indeed .com . I am finding most jobs in my area are not aspie friendly. So I am thinking worse comes to worse, I could go to another city that has more jobs. I have told a few people I am looking for work. but the more I...

I thought that being an aspie would make it easier to spot traitors. At lease for me it is. In fact. it so easy that I can prepare a counter attack and have it ready to deploy before things go down. Most aspies have a lot of trouble figuring out other peoples motives. They are naturally trusting an...

Even though I don’t agree with it you are an adult and make your own decisions. I am not in your body and mind, and I was 23 in 1980 not 2013 so who am I to judge you? I would just take an “off” day or a long weekend to refresh but that is up to you. Good luck.

Just to clarify, I also feel sorry for her son if she views him as ‘damaged goods’ or if as a result of her misguided beliefs she’s practicing any sort of crank therapies on him, but she’s not actually said anything to that effect here…..in fact she’s described him as “a beautiful seven year old”, ...
