Granted that each of us is different, I find a manual *less* distracting to drive. Automatics never shift when and how I want them to. That 'wrong' shifting is jarring and distracting.

Yes. When asked my age, I have to do the math.

Anything that happened longer ago than 48 hours seems the same to me. Anything more than a day in the future is likewise the same. That causes problems - I can't budget time.

Husqvarna.

Rancher model.

Works great. Feels good. Does what it is supposed to do, even if I forget to take care of it. Which does happen.

Any suggestions as to how to go about finding someone who deals with adults? I'm bad enough at initiating contact with people and the couple of times I've managed it I've ended up talking to people who deal with kids.

Oh my gawdz yes. This.

I understand it. I'm saying it in a way that I understand it. Why don't you understand it?

Theory of mind.

Just because I understand it, it doesn't stand to reason that someone else will. It's taken me a long time to figure that out.

'not reacting' is impossible in real life unless you're some sort of zen master. There's a reaction, even if there's no response. They get their reaction so they keep doing it. I've been there. Only ever stopped when I hit back. Only ever took once. It took getting mad instead of scared. Not an easy...

YES

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

It's immensely frustrating, because once I calm down (even if it takes days....) I can then play the conversation back in my head as it 'should have gone'. I love the internet - it lets me talk without having to speak. Very liberating.

I added an SSRI to my 'me' recently. I've noticed less crushing depression, but no reduction in sensitivity. If anything, there's been a slight increase.

I'm so proud of myself - I was just served lunch by a woman with a New Zealand accent, and didn't end up talking like her by the time I left the restaurant!

No, it's not. That's just the majority opinion. Like, the majority opinion used to say it was okay to own slaves. Now we know that's wrong. Even back then it was wrong, because it hurt people. The majority opinion now says that bullying is natural and harmless. But that majority opinion is wrong, t...
