So now its march. Is he still in the competition? I saw the tail end of "Idol" when he was picked, and told of his various conditions (tourettes as well as AS) and got hooked on rooting for him too. But I havent kept up with Idol since then. Yes he is still in it. In fact, he's in the top 13! Yay!!...

I live in my own world which is all in my head. The problem with this is that I don't get anything done. I have many ideas and resources but I can't get out of my head and realize them! I'm not sure how to explain it. I'm stuck somehow, paralyzed. It's like I don't exist outside of my thoughts.Or i...

This is my take on it. I think that when people speak of wanting a cure for Autism, they are talking about the ones with Autism who are greatly disabled by it. And I don't think they're wanting to take away a persons character or personality... they just want the disabling, painful things taken away...

I don't have any long standing obsessions with celebrities to the point where I live and breathe them on a daily basis, however, I get mini obsessions after watching a movie, show or concert and I'll jump on the computer and I read all about them on wikipedia, imbd and other websites. And when I do ...

My sisters last job was working with emotionally disturbed kids and one of them was AS. She also had another job that worked with kids and teens that had severe disabilities and one or more of them were low functioning Autistic, so her exposure to those are on the spectrum is limited. She refuses to...

I am going to be 51 years old this year and not only do I not act it, I don't look it, either. A doctor I saw this year said that when he first saw me, he had to look at my birth date in my file again, because he thought he had looked at it wrong. He couldn't believe that I was as old as 50. Most pe...

I think there is a difference between the younger Aspie's and the older Aspie's when it comes to needing validation from an Asperger's diagnosis. It seems to me, and I could be wrong, but it seems like the younger Aspie's are told at such a young age about their AS, that it isn't as important to the...

I know it is widely acceptable in the Asperger's "community" for people to self diagnose themselves (most notably older adults), and I am curious to know how many of you who self diagnosed went on to eventually get a professional diagnosis of Asperger's? Also, I am curious as to how many parents or ...
