The old saying was that "the sun never sets on the British Empire" because it spanned the globe. And yet Britain seems to be fairing alright since the collapse of its empire which officially ended in 1979.

The US was never really an empire to begin with.

Why people focus on the 2-5% death rate (dead count divided by TOTAL number of cases, including active and closed cases), while, the above death rate should be really the main concern...

NEWS FLASH! Death statistics in china jump by around 30% in one day . Hmmmm. :mrgreen: The normal daily mortality rate in the US is between 7,400-7,800 per day. China has over 3 times the population of the US, so a ballpark estimate of the daily mortality rate there should be around 23,000 per day....

We have just about all of one coronavirus and influenza season's data.

You know, November 2019 - April 2020 which about 90% of the 2019-2020 cold and flu season.

The situation seems to be white people complaining about the term Chinese Virus because Chinese people are not white, at which point race rather than place of origin comes into play. Basically those calling it racist, are the ones making it racist. Creating racism where it otherwise would not exist...
