Either I go to sleep now, or gorge myself with another super large bag of potato chips on a single sitting. And people are confused why or how am I not fat... I don't count calories, I don't have regular mealtimes, I'm a stress eater and very prone to stress, have multiple snacks a day and give in ...

85lbs at 35. 105 lbs at 60. Eating a 2 ft hotdog and fries! Doctor says I could use a few pounds. It's the autism making your brain work extra harder so your ending up burning more calories as a typical person because of the autism!! ! I SWEAR autism can affect metabolism. OMG why hasn't this been ...

Ectomorph. I can eat whatever I like without weight gain and am extremely thin. I was surprised that so many of us are extomorph, what with the 50-60% overweight or obese percentage. I think it's the autism making the brain work extra harder so you are all burning more calories than a typical person!

When I was at school, I often got called a scrawny little shrimp in the changing rooms because of my very skinny figure. I remember when we had swimming lessons feeling very self conscious of myself in my swimming trunks because my body was so stick like as well as being the only brown skinned boy ...

LOL....I wish autism would burn more of my calories!

Even though I've run at least 3 miles a day for a few months (before my surgery), I didn't lose a pound.

It could be age in general also. As you get older your metabolism can slow down

Yes, that is something I have been told by non-medical people when they saw the way I ate and didn't gain weight. In studying ASD, I think it is more complicated than that and still not well understood. There has been a lot of research into the connection between ASD and mitochondrial dysfunction. ...

Yes. I have noticed that most autistic people are either skinny or overweight. But the overweight ones are usually on meds that cause weight gain. I believe autism makes the brain work extra harder so it burns more calories than a typical person.

Because I have trouble on 2 way conversations on certain topics due to my autism it has caused one of my Discord friends to block me. This is horrible :( In RL? On line? Both? Well, I am a very slow thinker, so in real life, I don't do well. I generally have a policy of ignoring unsolicited chit ch...

I would like (although unlikely) to go back to Frankenmuth MI. It has been ages and there is all kinds of interesting things. I never heard of that place. But anything in Michigan I like by default: I did my first Ph.D. at the University of Michgian (Ann Arbor) and I wish I could go back in time. :...

Autism caused your body to be like that. I really believe autism affects metabolism

I do know some tiny females on the spectrum. Some other females who are tall and skinny, and other females who are the opposite of tiny. I wouldn't describe myself as tiny. I don't think size really correlates to being on the spectrum. Why are so many autistic people either skinny or overweight esp...

I will like to say in defense that most countries around the world only are starting to have some idea of what Aspergers/Autism is. In my origin country, it isn't known well at all. Just remember that we are at the forefront. America has too much reliance on ABA which can often be very cruel and op...

Yeah. I don't think this is Aspergers related. Most of my life, I was unable to gain any weight, no matter what I ate. In my late teens, I would clock in at probably 3000-4000 calories a day, and I could hardly even put on muscle before my flying metabolism processed all the protein. Only since I h...
