The main reason I contacted my late fiancé was because in his profile he said "I don't own a tie. If you don't like jeans and t-shirts, skip this profile." He wasn't kidding. Not only did he only wear jeans and t-shirts, they were pretty raggedy, and some of his t-shirts were downright offensive. Ho...

I can only think of two long-term relationships I have had that I did *not* initiate, and those were the least successful of any long-term relationships I've had. There were others that I *tried* to initiate, but got shot down. So, no, I absolutely don't buy that a) it has to be the man who makes th...

Wait, I'm confused here - am I sexist for being more physically attracted to men than I am to women, or am I sexist for valuing the person inside the body more than I value the exterior appearance? Or am I sexist for thinking that AD's requirement that women take greater care with their appearance i...

^Any woman ? What about men? Don't be sexist, dude. Men as well but women are seen as things of beauty more so they should respect themselves even more but it seems like a lot more men are respecting themselves more... Women are seen as things of beauty by men. Personally, I see the male form as a ...

Open relationships only work if both people want it. If one does, and one doesn't, it is automatic incompatibility. OP says she doesn't want it. She should give him his walking papers. Personally, I would never consider an open relationship. If I'm attracted to someone enough to have sex with him, I...

^^ No, definitely not. It happens all over the U.S. A lot of things I've been reading lately lead me to believe that people in general are maturing emotionally later than they did in my generation. Most 20-somethings (especially in these difficult economic times) are struggling to find themselves a...

There could also be large cultural differences between "class" backgrounds that make a meeting of the minds nearly impossible. As one example, I couldn't imagine having live-in staff. I may joke about wanting some from time to time, but in reality, I couldn't handle the loss of privacy it would enta...

Question for everyone. Have any of you tried a weighted blanket for your insomnia issues? and if so, did it help?

I've been thinking about making one. Will let you know if I actually manage to do so, and how/if it helps. :)

Lifetime insomniac here. I finally gave up about 10 years ago and started taking Lunesta. It helps, but doesn't guarantee a good night's sleep every night. I probably average about 6 hours a night: 4 nights a week that I might get 3-4 hours, and 3 nights a week that I might get 8-9 hours.

Ya know, letting ones self go, doesn't have to mean just their weight. people often hide behind their own masks until they cant hide it from a partner anymore, and then so honeymoon period often ends. a negative example of this, is like that of an abusive mate or one who tries to control their temp...

I can imagine Kurgan shouting at women to get in the gym or lose some weight, I wouldn't of thought of him the the most tactful human in history. I never got that impression from him. You on the other hand No, the whole point of this thread is trying to change a girl, I wouldn't bother with that in...

I recently spent some time around horses (first time in a couple of decades), and it occurred to me that quite possibly my preference for tall men comes from my life-long love of horses. There's something really neat about a creature that huge that you can trust not to hurt you. Also, ponies were us...

That's what I was wondering - if it was the old "love, honor, and obey" thing. Parents and bosses are to be obeyed. A marriage should be a mutual taking-each-other's-wishes-into-consideration partnership. But again, why do you prefer a man taller than you? :P Height does not equal authority. Think ...
