I just had an idea! Let me know if this would help anyone: You will need: ⋅ Mirror ⋅ Someone you trust who is both NT, and willing to help with this experiment. I will denote this person "Person A" ⋅ A modest amount of nerve I notice that when the person isn't looking b...

Any good books for changing from a monotonic, robotic, uninspiring voice, to a normal, expressive voice? On amazon, the books about voic training seem to be all about singing . perhaps those would be of value? Since I don't speak with any inflection, my voice is obviously out of tune. I don't know ...

I went thru that too. I started out as a computer systems engineer, and went to psychology. Engineering is something I will always keep as a hobby, but I need a purer science to hold my attention. Do you program at all? If so what languages? Perhaps we can collaborate. Linguistics is an interesting ...

The wife and child thing I can understand. But death is a release from pain. Not strictly painful in and of itself. Why worry about dying? No one gets out of life alive anyway.

I find the idea of letting off a really loud fart in a quiet art gallery amusing Haha!! It's funny to me because I know those people who take art analysis really seriously. Seems like that might bring them back to earth. I often burst out laughing simply because a funny idea has run through my head...

I use a bookmark because I often read 2 or 3 books at a time. If I'm only reading one book, sometimes I'll go with out one. OMG, I thought I was the only one who did this. Numbers stick in my head better than color or shape. My bookmark is a printed circuit board that's been cut to have a flap. My m...

You seem to think that its better to be alone. <sarcasm>Very observant.</sarcasm> There are other girls out there. I'm glad you and your ex can be friends, but in my experience, girls (and guys) can can be heartless in a breakup, and that isn't any way to start a friendship. Perhaps I'll someday su...

I asked my mother about it, because I used to speak in monotone. It was so persistant that my dad called me "eeore" (the character from winny the pooh). She said I lost it around 3-yrs old. I don't remember how. I wish I could be more help. I do think that singing has helped me refine it. I've never...

Haha! Yeah! I had the experience of "sudden realization" on April 21st, 2004. I wrote this as a result. ⋅ What is your favorite OS? ⋅ C programmers do it with long pointers. This is to be taken in the most vulgar way possible. ⋅ I use words like 'errata', 'inverse', 'de...

Just wanted to say...I like your profile picture of an ostrich. It's very cute... Haha! Yeah, my mom liked it too. 311 is teh bomb. I'm happy being me. I have a few NT friends that I'm very close to, and they seem to enjoy my differences. Have you ever considered a career in the sciences? Tell us m...

I don't consider myself shallow now. But before about age 20, for sure. Not because I was an a$$ to people (but I certainly was sometimes), but just in terms of depth of emotion. I'm not talking about how one evaluates the opposite sex, although that is a component of what I mean. I understand that ...

and he ( in my opinion) is being immature about not wanting to talk to her or be friends with her anymore, because he can't handle that fact. I behave the same way he does. It's difficult enough to deal, without seeing and hearing about the happy new couple. If I have to be lonely, I'd rather be al...

I've been there, friend. Religion was my tormentor. I found out about AS after going throught the crisis (shedding) of faith. But I won't deal with that, as you're having enough of a rough time already... How do you reconcile the view you have of the world with the view everyone else has? I feel lik...
