Awesome! What a coincidence. Yeah, we assess ours every 3 months too. I'll probably end up putting a couple of woolly things on there, although we have to put what we want to achieve, how we'll go about achieving it, and how we'll know we've succeeded. It's the kind of thing that just completely doe... |

Yo For anyone who hasn't come across any of my previous posts - I've been unofficially diagnosed by the therapist I'm seeing for depression/anxiety/PTSD. Have had initial short assessment interview with a specialist, filled out a bucketload of forms and am awaiting either an invitation to the in dep... |

Young people don't know how easy an Aspie has it these days. In the old days before the Internet, we were forced to carry home piles and piles of books from the library (if you could find books on your Special Interests) and once you'd exhausted all of the local libraries, you had to travel by bus ... |

Short answer - yes.
Less obsessive now that I'm on anti-anxiety meds, which is interesting, but still yes.
Also less absorbed in my obsessions as I get older, which is quite freeing! |

Is there any way you could get training in how to do interviews? I'm really lucky in that it was provided for us at school. There are also lots of books around. If you have a local job centre they might be able to help (it's something that's available in the UK but obviously I don't know about other... |

Hi I've been bullied out of a workplace before now (they found a loophole to get me fired) and I think sometimes, as you say, it is easier to try and pick yourself up and move on rather than to fight it. I'm lucky, in the UK it's now illegal to discriminate so as long as I'm open and honest they can... |

Yeah I hate making and receive phone calls. Can just about manage it when I have to - don't get as anxious as I used to - but I don't phone people "just to chat" very often. Hate it when my other half asks me to phone a takeaway or something. Or when I have to make a phone call at work. Like others,... |

Emotional Identification, Perception, and Expression 59 You appear to have at least some basic skill when it comes to identifying, perceiving and expressing emotions in yourself and others. However, there is still a great deal of room to improve on this core ability. Review the results below for fur... |

Hi This probably doesn't help a huge amount, but I'm in a similar boat to you. My other half has accepted the temporary Aspergers diagnosis without a quibble, although she's understandably concerned that this means some of my more annoying traits might not be resolvable (e.g. executive dysfunction).... |

I did it the opposite way. I self diagnosed with PTSD for years. Then after my son got diagnosed with aspergers, my sons Doctor asked to meet me a few times alone. After a few meetings he proceeded to tell me I may have some PTSD issues, but it wasn't the root cause for all my issues. Shortly there... |

I buy mine on ebay mostly but have very few - I have the same problem I like simple, elegant, plain or pinstripe work shirts and it's nigh on impossible to get them. They all seem to have puff sleeves, ruffs, loud patterns or are in horrible fabrics I can't touch! |

I kind of think you want a woman who falls for you because of who you are, not because of someone you're trying to look like. I'm 42 and I still wear jeans, hoodies, baseball boots. I've only recently started wearing smart shirts at work. I'm lucky in that I have a sister interested in fashion who h... |

This is what scares me, that I could be one of those people - even though my therapist is fairly confident that I'll get an "official" diagnosis. For me it's important because it changes me from weird, awkward, lazy to having a neurological condition. One of the reasons I've made such huge leaps for... |

Hurrah! That's great news. Gratulerar :) And good luck, I hope you get what you need from your assessment and subsequent sessions. Are you having the tests etc in Sweden? I have friends in Sweden (one is a specialpedagog) who have dealings with autistic kids etc and when I told them I had (undiagnos... |

Was really straightforward in the end. He asked why I wanted the assessment so I explained about some of my issues with inflexibility, sensory input (textures, noise), frustration at not understanding things, facial expressions etc. I've got some forms to fill in and then there'll probably be a full... |
