You are the Cambodian lady. Everyone seems to overlook you, unless they want something from you. You have a rare and esoteric knowledge, and a skill that is not inconsiderable. Despite that, you remain in the background. Whether that is by destiny or by design is a question that only you can answer.... |

I just hate talking on the phone. I have trouble coping with the phone conversation going on in one ear, and whatever else is happening in my world going on in the other ear. Drives me batty. Email is best. |

Yes, I usually pause. This can work for you. It can make you look deep and thoughtful. I had one boss who hired me because of the pauses. She interpreted it as my really thinking things over before answering. Well, that was true, but maybe not in the way she assumed |

The kicking the seat i know someone reffered it to bratty behavior that is exactly what i said but the doctor thinks it is his aggression coming out of him because he was made to go somewhere he didn't want to go. ... well ... that IS the definition of bratty behavior. My NT kids do this, too, it's... |

I learned that when I started to rationalize the gossipee's situation in a more sympathetic or positive light, the conversation would usually turn around. I was in a situation for a few years where this was what I did. We had a {female} boss that was disliked and gossiped about. I tried to mention ... |

I find it interesting that the dx of retardation has dropped almost in the same proportion as dx of autism has increased in California. That caught my eye, too. I wonder about it. I have a bil who was "born ret*d" (that's how the family expresses it) but received numerous and varied therapies throu... |

I don't feel that I'm missing out on anything. I don't want to be hangning out with scantly-dressed Valley Girls, in a Bar or a Club, where there's Rap music playing in the background, paying a fortune for Drinks. I'd rather spend an evening in my new apartment, enjoying my Tea, doing coloured sket... |

9 years. I quit that job when my children were born. If you're willing to count what I do now as a job (home school, homemaking), that would be 12 years. |

Merle, I sent you a pm. Inventor, please keep babbling. Yours is the most interesting babble I've heard in a vary long time. Families can be h**l or not. Mine had its problems, to be sure, and still does, but homicidal hatred was not one of them. My heart, such as it is, goes out to all who cannot f... |
