Of course you should stick with a site you feel is right for you, but I have found positive examples of success here. Highly educated people, amazing artists, creative writers, and social examples of friends, couples and marriage.

It can be done. Keep your eye on some of the entry level jobs (dispatch, analytics, etc) because experience is needed for something bigger. Find out what kind of support or relief programs your Sheriff or Police dept have. It's hard to work for free, but it gives you the opportunity for a better sho...

That is sad. Even if I accept the states prohibition on non-consensual recordings, there is a valid complaint that needs to be followed up on. This situation is just another example of someone hiding behind the idea they are protecting someone's rights while they ignore the right of another to be fr...

I would draw faces and hands. I was very focused on proportion and not emotion. I also focused on each line, to the point I would try to draw each eyelash.

Never back down when you are right. Never let someone make you a follower. You are a leader or a partner, not a lackey. Be ready to stand alone sometimes. Shut up any voices that say someone else can do it better, even if it is your voice. Know that you are going to do it because you want to do it. ...

I am a boss and I have these discussions. The advice to be direct and professional is the best. If you feel uncomfortable just talking about the raise, bring up the discussion in a way that shows you are just following up on what he said earlier. In particular, you want to know if the raise will req...

Always visit the gym before you join. Staff will walk you around and you can observe how the keep up with equipment. I would suggest visiting around the time you intend to work out to see the crowd and make sure they are following gym etiquette by wiping down machines. Research the best workouts for...

Ask yourself about what you like about the police or military. If it's the organization pulling together for the better good, maybe management courses. If it's the investigations, there are a lot of forensic courses (including psychology) that might be right for you. Whatever you do keep it near you...

It seems appropriate to give real life examples. Maybe the difficulty in reading social queues has us miss when it turns people off.

It is very hard to realize you don't have the same tools as someone else. I reacted with anger more than depression. I didn't let myself believe until diagnosed. After that I became bitter. There are a lot if occasions where I know now my condition allowed me to be used. I also know I come off as co...

Feels like it would be more of a colony than a society. Task oriented rather than people oriented. The group will be driven by what you propose to do. I imagine much clearer rights and rules. However I see far more absolutes in punishment. Actions would define success or failure far more than intent...

I would think the problems of an aspie Police Officer would be very high for the officer level position. It is very reactive and does require the ability to make quick decisions based on nuance. These decisions are based on the need for the safety of the officer and the bystanders. On the other hand...

I don't believe there is any way to feel comfortable with networking. I would suggest coming armed with a few questions. "My (job/field) is very interested in ---, what are your thoughts on this subject?" It has worked for me. I don't have to talk much, just try to listen. Giving people a chance to ...

A man who hits a woman is not a man. Few things make me angrier than that. You are on a site where people react to the facts and tell you the truth. There is not "thinking about leaving" there is only leaving in that situation. It will not get better. Better is out there waiting for you and not seei...
