I can't believe that's an actual thing.

What kind of people do you "try dating"? That would imply that I actually go anywhere to meet other human beings.

Exactly my problem.

I'm lonely not because I aim out of my league (I'm a gay guy and actually get hit on pretty often) but because I'm too intimidated to reciprocate others' advances. That's why I'm looking for an Aspie guy; I feel like he'd understand my uncertainty and inexperience and that we could learn together.

The main Asperger's odd-bods thread didn't have a specific thread for this, so I thought I'd ask. Are there any gay Aspie males on here? I'm a young Aspie guy (early 20s, but people think I'm younger) with a thin build and blonde hair. I'm looking to just get to know other gay Aspie guys, share expe...

I'm on OK Cupid myself. I'm not putting I'm looking for an aspie guy, though. What I do put is I'm looking for a shy and nerdy type of guy who likes movies and quiet times. That's relatively aspie-ish. Also, so no one gets confused, I put I'm looking for a platonic relationship. I don't know. I'm j...

I'm 25 years old, male, gay, 5'10", and about 135 pounds. I have green eyes and very long blonde hair (a little past mid-back) that I feel is my best feature. I'm often told I look substantially younger than my age, but that seems a common Aspie thing. I really like history, singing, movies, fantasy...

I'm a gay 25-year-old Aspie (though like many Aspies look much younger than my age) who has put off dating because of a fear of intimacy. I'm very socialized and am blessed enough to have a large friend group, but the lack of romantic companionship is beginning to cause an ache. I just want someone ...

Speaking to a professional is definitely the way to go. You sound like a very articulate and self-aware person, and the tools a therapist will equip you with will allow you to make huge strides. As to those who accuse you of "making it up": any friend or family member like that isn't worth having in...

Well, the first way to get help would be to seek out a therapist. Your older brother no doubt means well, but he's not medically trained to confirm diagnosis of a neurological disorder.

I've noticed that my obsessions have also dimmed over the years.

And hey, you can't medicate Asperger's syndrome but you can medicate the anxiety and depression that comes with it. If it helps you have a better quality of life, then why not?

I'm no doctor, but it certainly sounds like you have some of the classic symptoms of Aspeger's. And how awesome would it be if you and that guy wound up seeing one another! I imagine you'd have a lot to talk about.
