Oh yes, it was my main overriding obsession a couple years ago. Recently it has started again, though I am in a much better place now than back then. When looking back on it, I find myself looking through the same few articles at any given time over and over, reading through passages I am fascinated...

At this point I have three different pants (baggy jeans, cargos) that I can handle changing between (a little achievement). Same with t-shirts, within any extended period I have three-four that I change between- rarely, but happens, I change one out with a new one. I need to wear a big jacket as far...

When I played video games before, the big difference between me and the few NT shy/socially awkward friends I had was that although they were shy/awkward in real life, they could socialize perfectly well with each other and with others when playing online games like World of Warcraft or Halo. With ...

I have absolutely no idea what people really think of me, and this is confusing me a great deal even though I now have been officially diagnosed, literally got disability handed to me right away by my social worker without even asking for it, and have a (very) accommodated job. To me I only know wha...

This is one of my problems with socializing too. Another thing I've figured it's about is that although I may sometimes (far from always) know what might be socially appropriate to ask about, but still don't do it, is because I know that by doing so I am simply extending or initiating a conversation...

Besides cartoons like Family Guy I can still watch an episode of classic cartoons like Tom & Jerry and The Flintstones on occasion.

Reminds me of my childhood when I used to watch it at my best friends house on classic 90s Cartoon Network.

How could an aspie seriously survive in a post-apocalyptic world when we barely are able to cope in full-fledged civilization?

I think the answer is pretty obvious, post-apocalyptic-romanticism put aside.

It's hard for me to really see what it would be like without them.

I would probably be very alone though, because they're the only people I have a truly close relationship with.

Isn't it worth trying at least? I'd say go for an appointment and then take it from there. It can't hurt.

You say you have severe social anxiety, which could be bad enough alone to cause the issues you state, but then again it's possible that it's a result of AS in the first place. You sound a lot like myself two years ago when I decided to go to therapy for my issues and have been helped enormously by ...

I don't mind a structured portrait of me alone, but pictures of me in settings with other people makes me really uncomfortable.

It's like it becomes painfully obvious how disconnected I am to everyone else in the situation.

The title says it. The summer has kicked in were I live, and although I would want it to be a pleasant time it is turning me into a miserable person. I have a new accommodated job where I work half days, but even by the time I get to work my head has started to shut down by a combination of the chan...

An autistic can be confused or anxious even for a type of change that NTs probably wouldn't even recognise as change. NT dislike/fear of change you're mostly talking about big things like moving to another place, relationships, jobs etc., but for an autistic individual something much less significan...

How do you even know how to gain new people to socialise with, and get friends and even girlfriends?

Two months? I can't even connect past the first encounter with someone, if that.
