It's got nothing to do with intelligence or "tier of functioning"; it's a matter of if it interferes with your life or not. If it does, then there you go. If you feel as though this therapist is not helping you, that's fine- your money's just as good somewhere else. Have you considered telling him/h...

I know six AS men; two of them have already had sex (and they're 24 and 23, respectively), another's in a relationship, one had a relationship before me and was choosing to abstain until marriage for religious observance (although he's undiagnosed), one of them is trying online dating and found a ma...

The short answer- it depends on the person. In my experience, I have an insanely detailed memory. I hate it when people call me "bright" or what-have-you, because I feel like they only really see my memory in the works. To me, intelligence requires more than regurgitation; and for a long while, I fe...

I've always found copyright dates to be a bit misleading, since they're often a year ahead of or behind when something was actually published or released. Knowing the "copyright" date of a movie, game, or album doesn't really interest me, but the release date definitely interests me. But, why are c...

I also read this literature. It brought me to cloud nine. |

Fine, feed the OP's delusion that there is a fictional being out there actually interested in his love life. Personally I think if there was a God he wouldn't give a f**k about one person's love life. He sure doesn't give a f**k about all the Africans dying from Ebola. It takes arrogance to think t...

I am unfamiliar with UK law. I do know, however, in the USA, you would have grounds for a massive discrimination lawsuit. Really? I've talked to universities before about online programs and accommodations. I need to have work cut down and extended time on test & quizzes as well, but they refus...

I live in the Southeast US; in the rural strip referred to as "the Bible belt". I've gotten plenty of s**t from others when it comes to traditional family roles. "You should have done education! You could homeschool your children!" or "You can't be a doctor, what about your family?! But a NURSE, on...

I don't know where you live, but where I come from there are very few "male-dominated fields" left. The overwhelming majority of college-graduates coming out nowadays are women and they're taking over the job market, or at least the white-collar job market. That and there really are no disadvantage...

| I agree there is a proper way to behave in public but we can all only do our best. Sometimes your best isn't good enough and anyone with AS making an ass of himself in public disgraces the spectrum and others on it, and is partially responsible for people's negative opinions on the rest of us. | Well, caffeine is a mild analgesic as well. The migraine could be made worse by the fact that you may also be withdrawing from the caffeine- and by its natural properties, it also soothes your migraine a little. If I said anything more about diet, I'd be a hypocrite. I'll simply lurk for good advice... |

This may sound a little silly, but I don't feel like I have the right to hate my parents. I mean, it's not like I'd be here if I was someone else's kid; although they certainly had their issues, I feel like they do actually care. Loyalty was sort of engrained into my siblings and I, my brother being...

I'm not a professional, dear, but that sounds a lot like anxiety. What's your special interest? If you have one, tell me about it. That helps a lot to share what you're good at with people. :D Just remember, you'll get it done. There's no reason to be anxious. Anxiety doesn't help us get things don...
