I hate to only be starting new threads and not really contributing much, but things have been so stressful in my life lately. It seems everyone hates me. People only (generally) are out for themselves and will screw you any chance they get. It is me against the world. As a result, I have zero reserv...

On average, it takes about 2 years for things to go sour with people. Then I have to disappear.

Yes. I have been trying to find someone to teach me how to do activities of daily living and how to manage my executive functioning issues. Anyone who tries to help just has me observe them or they just observe me. I need a structured lesson in order to learn anything. Why do you think that I did n...

I know what you mean. Everyone is so pigeon holed now that you can't get proper help from anyone. It is so frustrating. And don't try to ask for help that you can't already get on your own. How many times have I called a company and asked for assistance on a product or a service and they just read ...

It seems in this day and age, everything is DIY. I have a hard time with visual processing, and nowadays I can't get help doing basic things. Most stores sell products unassembled, with complicated instructions and you have to pay an arm and a leg to get it assembled. Getting help for life's everyda...

If so, please share your story. Here's mine: Over the years, I've received negative treatment from people, ranging from restaurant cashiers to retail clerks. Being shy, I never, ever complained. Just endured the treatment and felt rotten afterward. Well, today decided I had enough. Went to a local b...

Quite the opposite...I don't attract aspies or people with special needs at all. I tend to attract a much older NT who has spent some time in prison or jail.

My experience is similar to yours, existentialterror. It has caused me quite a lot of anguish over the years. Most of us here are marginalised in one way or another, but of course it takes different forms. Many people in this situation have an inherent (and probably justified) suspicion of anyone w...

Do you seek friendships or relationship with people who are marginalized in some way? (For example, mental or physical limitation, homeless, unemployed, poor, birth defect, etc... ) I, being marginalized myself, believe that other marginalized people are more likely to accept me. However, I've found...

I hope I'm not misunderstanding .... do you want to go home from a support group meeting with someone from the group? Did you mean you hoped to hit it off with someone there, or are you just concerned about your safety after dark? I was hoping to go home with someone from the group (as I don't driv...

Well, it sounds like friendships and other relationships is an area of ongoing concern for you. So could you go to the meeting and say this is an area of coping where I am having some difficulty? You have to start somewhere, and it sounds like what you have been doing up till now is not working. Wh...

I think a therapy group or depression or Asperger's support group might help you identify what is going wrong. It's going to be hard for us to figure out here, especially since your own insight is pretty limited. Such a group might also help you feel less desperately lonely. Is there anything like ...
