I really enjoyed The Last Lovecraft: Relic of Cthulhu. It is a little derived in some areas, but hilarious.

Lovecraft is notoriously difficult to adapt to film. Feature length, at least. Here's a really cool short though:

In October 2012, I reconnected with some high school friends for a game night. We played vanilla Munchkin and vanilla Catan. Now I'm hooked, and I travel to my friend's house- a 90 min bus commute- just about every week. In my personal collection I have 7 Cthulhu Mythos games: Arkham Horror, Elder S...

I hadn't bothered to see how old this thread was, what page I was on, or what date Rob Swire was mentioned.

I'm not so sure but Rob Swire frontman for the drum n bass band "Pendulum" seems AS-ish. I watched a live DVD and he had no direct interaction with the audience. Also he seemed entirely focused on his instruments rather than the audience. I watched an interview with him and another band member and ...

I had been TV free for a couple years. I broke down and bought a DTV box this winter. I'm about 2 miles from one of the tallest broadcast towers in the country. I had no trouble getting NBC, ABC, CBS(two channels, one of them weather only), and 3 channels of PBS. I mostly just watched Create/PBS, Th...

I saw this episode of Look Around You on Adult Swim the other night and wondered if anyone had seen it. Particularily the character Toni Baxter.

Aldous Huxley was brilliant beyond his dystopia Brave New World . He also wrote a commentary on religion/spirituality called The Perennial Philosophy . The Bhagavad Gita is an essential. It is basically a conversation on various meanings of life between Lord Krishna and Arjuna. Krishna utilizes a sy...

I'm not a Christian, by definition, but I believe in Christ. I admit that I have not thoroughly studied the Bible, but I recognize the immense importance of the Gospels. I have come to view the Sermon on the Mount in the Book of Matthew as one of the most important guides for living virtuously that ...

That's another part of the issue: instant gratification. Too often, people want to see immediate results, when the best solutions are often the ones that take time to set in. Better education about holistic diets- not diets that avoid one thing or glorify another- is necessary. All it takes is a few...

My solution would have to deal with education, diet, and a hoilistic/preventative approach to health care. Educate people on what goes into a healthy diet. Educate people about preventive care measures. Give tax incentives for taking Tai Chi/Qi Gong or other martial arts or even yoga classes. Better...

Which religion did you choose? The Baha'i faith. Why did you choose to convert? Everything makes sense. Also, we don't believe in 'conversion', we consider it to be 'progression', as all religions are the same. How did you choose which religion and denomination to progress to? Independent search fo...

The first place I saw this particular term was here, so I figured I would ask if someone could help refresh my memory.

In the context of scripture, when one teaching or verse overrides or updates a previous one. Used in Islam frequently.

Thanks.
