My first reaction is sub Clinical? I have been diagnosed with the symptoms, but I still am not sure if it's clinical autism or being neglected. I Definitely feel at home here and I think that's all that matters.

Wow...that's the depression talking. I can see it!! ! I've been abused a lot. I also have PSTD. I'm a survivor. Thank goodness- I guess. I'm sorry. I go to CODA groups, but I feel they a little dogmatic sometimes, but it's better than nothing at all. Take care. Go watch a movie, take a bath, do some...

You mean you can't identify your feelings? I'm sure you have a personality. What I see from my side of the screen is maybe disassociation or over intellectualization? Worth a google. Yes, before I started working on my social skills I was very flat. My true self is a very boring person. Which I thin...

Loss is never easy. Even losing bad relationships is hard on the heart.

I agree with the advice of staying busy and positive. Easier said than done. I agree isolation will anyone up, and I hope you make some friends soon.

I browsed through. My mom is getting denied on disability. All I can say is my heart goes out to you. To whoever said drop the self-defeating, negative attitude. I would say that's not the appropriate way to convey that CBT is more helpful. Yes, CBT thinking styles are helpful, but I think a season ...

I quit Facebook it seemed to be a waste of time. I still feel sad. I feel like a failure for not understanding how to network. I'm in sales and I thought it would be a good idea to learn about Facebook for sales and social activism, but it was wasting a lot of time. I have a hard time grasping how f...

Why is it taboo to talk about politics? Why can't people discuss politics in a respectful way? Also, do you think when most people talk about politics they are persuasively arguing instead of trying to find the truth and understanding? I'm trying to find the truth;therefore, I'm listening to the oth...

It's just a myth. This is an interesting read: THEORY FINDS THAT INDIVIDUALS WITH ASPERGER’S SYNDROME DON’T LACK EMPATHY – IN FACT IF ANYTHING THEY EMPATHIZE TOO MUCH http://www.the-open-mind.com/theory-finds-that-individuals-with-aspergers-syndrome-dont-lack-empathy-in-fact-if-anything-they-empath...

A lot of people don't see autism in females because they expect it to be the same in both boys and girls. Denial is more common when there is little that can be done with a diagnosis. Thank you for your input. I was wondering if neglect and Asperger's would present the same? Is it nature or nuture?...

I am new here. With respect for what has gone before in discussion, I feel that authenticity is the most important aspect of life when your life is told to you in terms of instruction or a demand to "be normal". There is no normal. Normal is a myth from the linear neuronorm mind. It's a &...

I also struggle with deprogramming and being my authentic self. I spend tons of energy and worry on blending. It's so automatic for me now it's hard to turn the performance off and be the real me. I was raised in a very WASP-y environment where everyone was expected to be polite, and to send cards ...

ME too! I'm 31. I wanted to ask God for help, but then thought I was a hypocrite and got in a religious debate with myself...LOL. I was feeling sucidal, but I remember a time when I was diagnosed with Asperger's and came here. My mom invalidated my diagnosis at 24- probably her own denial. I feel li...

Hello, Thank you for the advice and links. The comments about PDA are very interesting. My youngest screens positively for autism both through online screening and initial assessment by a clinical psychologist, but he refuses to go for a formal diagnostic assessment. PDA is a profile that seems to ...
