Some school counselors are not totally familiar with mental illnesses. I would suggest you ask the counselor for a reccomendation to see a psychologist or psychiatrist. Your story reminds me of my teenage years. I didn't get help until age 19 and wish I had gone to a psy / dr earlier. Be safe and se...
