| My boyfriend lives an hour away. I got a message from him this morning about him being in a lot of pain. I said I could come bring him pain medicine and stay there for a couple of days. The problem is, I packed up and showered and was ready to go in maybe 30 or so minutes but then I needed gas and t... |

| I have tried it many times, and I still don't get it. How am I supposed to feel if I succeed at it? What type of meditation have you tried doing? The thing about it is, you shouldn't go in with expectations of how it is "supposed" to be or an idea of you trying to "succeed" at it or reach a goal. J... |

| I'm just curious about who all has tried any type of meditation (mindfulness or anything else) or even Buddhism (whether religious or pragmatic/secular). It really helps me to feel happier and control my anxiety. Anyone else? If you haven't tried it, I think you might consider it! There is a book ac... |

| There are studies on this actually! But, yes, current research suggests that people on the autism spectrum have trouble with their identity of self. These same studies conclude that most people on the autism spectrum have poor episodic memory as opposed to semantic memory, which they believe is vita... |

| What I do is I find a place for everything- generally when I unpack after I move into a new place, but you could start now and just have a day or several days with it all broken up into easy chunks where you find places for things. Sometimes this requires me buying things like a key rack to hang by ... |

| Yes, short term memory problems are common for people on the spectrum. It goes along with executive functioning problems as well, since you use your frontal cortex when you are involved in your working memory or short term memory. |

| I have the same problem. It seems so hard to make friends while I see so many other people doing it so easily all around me. I think it is important to look at how you are trying to make friends- some social situations are better than others for that. As others have said, some social situations like... |

| I distinctly remember as a young girl practicing swinging my arms while walking! Now it is not so necessary to think about, especially since it is acceptable these days to be carrying your cell phone around everywhere you go in your hands. So I usually just hold my cell phone in my hands when I am w... |

| I like kneeling on a chair or sofa. I used to knee on a chair all the time when I was younger, especially in the lessons. Knee on a chair and warm my foots and back using the heater next to my desk. That was just perfect. Now I sit this way only at home, especially when eating. I often joke I shoul... |

| You know, I gave up going to lectures that weren't required early on in college and I don't go in med school either. If lectures were required, I wouldn't even listen, I would just read from the book and work on my own while it went on. I find that works best for me. Otherwise, I get very little and... |

With my legs underneath me, I prefer my feet to point to the right. It is more difficult for me to point them to the left. I will try it if I am sitting for too long and need to shift, though. I can put my feet flat too when I squat down too |

| So people have commented before about how when I sit in a chair, I like to sit with my legs underneath me or even up against my chest. I do this in restaurants, in lectures, in small group discussion classes, everywhere. If my legs are not in the chair with me, I twist them around each other a coupl... |

Things that require be to process a lot of information at once, things that involve complex feelings, things that require me to remember things- a lot of the time it is very difficult for me to answer quickly and I take a long time to answer or my an... |

It sounds like she is suggesting that your depression may be somewhat resistant to treatment. Commonly when depression shows resistance to treatment, they augment that treatment ... |
