I think anoth thing we tend to do, as Aspies who were told of this, is put a lot more stock in other peoples understanding of us than we do of our own. Everyone elses position is, by default, more valid than our own. This is a kind of internalised self deprecation, and it is definitely worth keeping...

I deal with eye contact issues every day. Some days i am completely fine, others i need to just have conversations without looking people n the eye at all.
