I don't have all that trippy stuff but the sound at high volume was really offensive and probably enough to cause overload in someone. I don't quite see and hear at the same time (who does?) so the sort of steady camera was not realistic. And everything is at discrete frequencies in real life there ...

I don't feel hardly any pain when overloaded just nausea and its not even that bad, my verbal abilities go, I agree with Halfmadgenius about the sense of reason thing as well

I always thought it was those on the spectrum classifying these individuals as autistic posthumously as if they were saying 'cool, this person invented relativity theory lets claim him as our own'. There are many child prodigies who are distinctively Aspie in the present day and people like Stephen ...

Life is full of ups and downs, one of my severely AS friends got worse from 12 to 14 and everyone thinks that she was faking it, turned out all she needed was a change of scenery because she had become resigned and stressed. My stimming got worse once over some exams and I was craving watermelon des...

I think its everyone else who acts awkward around me :D (when I open my mouth that is), I find that in order to beat awkwardness in a crowd I relax my facial expression so they can't read my mind in their creepy NT way

Can't pick one, I like both, I was originally really arty as a kid because I couldn't read or anything but now I love science because its sort of my life but I paint at weekends/holidays always looking for things to paint.

Natural sound like babies crying doesn't normally cause a problem just artificial sounds, on the other hand people shouting does, maybe its only low pitched sounds for me.

I act NT but I can just sort of regress back when necessary, the only thing I can't lose is the sense of humor about taking things too literally and a play on words which I don't think is a particularly Aspie habit but it stems from the fact that I don't always understand what people are saying beca...

I don't know about shivering from cold but I sometimes get a violent tick in my neck and sort of shiver, when people ask whats up I just say 'it just felt like someone walked over my grave' and they seem to know what I mean so I guess NTs get this aswell

Yes I think that happens with all people with ASD, but why is that a bad thing? Boring people are the hardest workers so maybe its good your colleagues see you this way. If they don't know you're on the spectrum could they just think you're dedicated to you're lab work and don't want to speak about ...
