From what reading I've done it seems a stereotypical autistic view of the world could be described closer to perhaps egocentric than narcissistic.
I'm not sure playing mind-games and being overly manipulative is particularly an autistic strength. These are not natural to me at least. |

I barely watch any TV, hardly ever txt unless there is a good reason, and have no interest in celebrity culture. |

For myself, I wasn't saying that OP wasn't experiencing anxiety.....just because my experiences aren't anxiety doesn't mean that his experiences couldn't be. I just offered my experience as something for him to compare to his own and decide for himself. I'm sure that both autistic and non-autistic ... |

Yes I hadn't heard of the term until recently either and seems mostly used by people with ASD (be careful talking to professionals about inertia, they will assume you are discussing anxiety). It essentially just qualitatively describes how Executive Dysfunction may manifest in people with ASD, the d... |

^^^ Oops can't edit, as I was saying. Because our conversations didn't amount to much we were never more than aquantainces. The guy has moved to a different office, still see him from time to time but I honestly don't have a clue what to say past that horrible waste of time "hi". I find th... |

Yes I have this problem too and I agree with some of the other posters that it is not anxiety. Sure anxiety is possible as a secondary effect given how we painfully know from experience that turning up empty-handed to a conversation rarely ends well. That however is not the reason we are empty-hande... |

Dry, dark, caustic, sarcastic, ironic. I'm a master at these, though it often leads me to trouble so I do the best I can to keep it to myself. |

No, my parents just thought I was an odd loner and have never really taken much interest in me. Not even repeated attempted suicide in my mid teens changed that... |

I like cooking and have been told I'm good at it, but I get absorbed in the preparation and have multitasking stress so it takes a long time to do and recover afterwards. As a result I mostly cook the same simple things over and over. I have no issues cooking the same thing day after day. |

Yes very much the same, except I'm even worse with decision making. I agree with ER that it may be part of alexithymia. I was walking with my friend in heavy rain not so long ago. I was so so frustrated i wanted to explode, I just wanted to stop and get out of it for a second, but just couldn't turn... |

This was one of the reasons why I dismissed the possibility of having Asperger's for so long. According to the articles I checked, it seemed that having Asperger's required you to be a monomaniac, expounding on your preferred subject of conversation at great length while ignoring the glazed eyes ar... |

How about y'all leave her alone and if you don't like astrology, then don't post on this thread. Geez... It doesn't matter if you think it's real or not. It's just plain rude to sh** on someone's interests like this. Believe me, there's soooooo many other people in the world who have open scorn for... |

No, astrology is not a science. Whether it "uses" mathematics/statistics or not, that does not make it science. You could do science without mathematics, mathematics is merely the preferred language of modern science. I believe in astrology. Why do so many people say things are rubbish just because ... |

I believe if you don't memorize things like times tables, and have to count on your fingers, you gain a better understanding of math. If you have the answer memorized, you don't see the whole process. I would go further, I am annoyed when a process is not fully explained (I realise that's difficult... |

Laugh, and the world laughs with you; Weep, and you weep alone; For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth, But has trouble enough of its own. Sing, and the hills will answer; Sigh, it is lost on the air; The echoes bound to a joyful sound, But shrink from voicing care. Rejoice, and men will seek y... |
